I've seen a couple of facebook messages from people who claim to have received emails from some of the large photography businesses promising them freebies if they vote for them in the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) annual awards (screen shot proof is required apparently). Has anyone ever got one of these? The society doesn't post any rules for entering, so 'voter incentives' don't seem to be explicitly disallowed, but it somehow seems to fall short of what one would expect of a user voted award. When I expressed my surprise and disapproval I was basically told, "What can you do? This happens all the time, so why bother making a fuss".
