The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

No definetly not as i even asked you about the d850 and I remember you saying that the d750 is fine for now.

I know twist swapped his a7r2 for d750 and wants to try the a9 but waiting for price to go down more

I've definitely not ever had a d750. had a d600, d610 and d810.most recently a d600 and was on the lookout for a d750. but used prices were very close to new, so didn't find a deal that was right for me.

the a7ii went up for sale but had no interest so keeping hold of it. for now.

You had a a7r2 at one point diddnt you?

I'm confused.

Is addicknchips actually Twist and has he been Twist all along?

And while I'm here, Who Am I?

Well, this could be good news.

The rumor site is reporting that Sigma may be about to launch "many" lenses in FE mount at the CP+ show which starts on the 1st March.

Here's the link...

I do hope that these are more compact designs and not DSLR lenses with an adapter welded on the back. If they're the former then GREAT! but if they're the latter I can't see myself ever caring. Many will though.

Only a month or so to wait to see what they've been busy doing :D

Even without adapter sized add on these will likely be large lenses. Just look at their recent 85mm art lens. It’s a monster.
If it’s 1.4 stuff it won’t be small

I expect them to be making quality lenses and very possibly wider aperture too and unfortunately quality and wide aperture often mean big. Sony 55mm f1.8 size would be nice.

So, I have the A7R2 and initially was to receive the A7R3 tomorrow.

I changed it to an A9 last minute as the notion of shooting 2x 42mp cameras at weddings seems a bad idea to me lol

Hopefully I don't regret it haha

I used to use 2x Sony A7RII's for weddings, the resolution was way more than I needed. :D

Is there anymore word on them adding picture profiles to video on the A9 ? Slog etc?

There's no reason why the hardware can't do it like.

We. Don't know that. It could cause overheating issues or the sensor tech is not ready for it yet

Sorry if it's a silly question but if you're using the electronic shutter is there a number of shutter actuations in terms of life cycle ? On the A9 etc

No such thing as too much :)

I think providing you have a good enough cpu/Mac to process the files (which you should if you are spending thousands on a camera) there isn’t much issue. Removable storage is now relatively cheap -£80 for 3
Tb?

Yes I agree..... I am going to keep a watchful eye on Sony....... A9R would be epic.

If so what was it like wide open?

Bokeh is nice but it’s not super sharp wide open. Was quite noticeable on the A7rii compared to the 55mm 1.8. Af isn’t as fast and it’s a little noisy.
It’s a good option for the price though.

Am on the train Home from London now but will pop up a few examples up when I’m home or tomorrow.
