I finished work at 3pm yesterday and after thinking about the hills all day I couldn't resist a quick blast up Moel Eilio. I only saw one other person who was coming down as I was going up and then enjoyed an hour to myself with the most tremendous views.

I only took one 'insurance' shot during a brief illumination as I anticipated a great sunset which didn't happen but still, I descended a very happy man to the Llanberis kebab shop where I replaced the calories spent during a 'shiverfest'!

Photography aside, I love these mountains in which I am so lucky to live :)

Lovely Nick.

Nature giving a superb display and you were dedicated enough to go and captur it , Epic

Summed up perfectly in your first sentence; it's great thinking about what you're going to do after work and it makes the work more worthwhile.
Great image. I'm liking the balance in the composition and the way the fence line and style has caught the light is fabulous.

Excellent photo. I'm so jealous that 1. You live so close and 2. You're fit enough to walk up there. I used to do a lot of walking over those 'hills' myself a few years back but age, and the fact I broke my back, I can't do it anymore. Still, I can look at your shots and think 'I remember when.........

Only just seen this, Nick. Superb. Love it and the cropping is perfect. Just my kind of photo.

I like this too.

Am I being a picky A**hole or how much better would that shot be without the fence. Not an awful lot you could do about that one but that fence really bothers me. Looking at it, I cannot really see a way to frame the mountains without it cutting at some point.

The fence is a (rather sad but) major feature of this ridge and without it there would just be a bland snowy foreground. To me, Steve, although I'd rather it wasn't there it does serve as a usefull lead in line if nothing else ;)
