The Godox updates page is at http://www.godox.com/CN/Downloads.html in Chinese but most browsers can translate to English.

If trying to use the updates on a Windows 8 or 10 machine you first need to set the computer to allow unsigned drivers and after that run the install programs followed by the firmware upgrade. a further issue I found with the AD360II-N upgrade is that the system does not like being run from a folder with Chinese characters in the name so I simply moved to the desktop and ran from there.

I found the following info online

Updates from http://www.godox.com/CN/Downloads.html

I have successfully upgraded the driver with Windows 10, here is what you need to do:

1. Do NOT connect the flash/trigger to the computer at this point. If you have already connected the device to the computer prior to the installation, you might have problems as the computer registers the device as unknown, and after that it gets pretty hard to make the computer disregard that.

2. Check the software version on the device and make sure you’re not already running the version you are updating to. If you’re running the latest version, there should be no reason to upgrade.
On X1-T:
Turn device OFF. Hold the MODE button pressed, and turn the device ON. The firmware version will be displayed.
On X1-R:
Turn device OFF. Hold the GR button pressed, and turn the device ON. The firmware version will be displayed.
On TT685C:
Press the C.fn button and the firmware version will be displayed at the top right corner. Note: The same works on AD360II

3. Disable Driver Signature Verification using this guide: http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how...8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/

4. Once the computer has restarted, run the installation and choose to install the drivers (even if you have installed them before). Make sure the installation has completed successfully. If there is an error with installing the drivers, try to correct the problem before continuing.

5. Let the installation install Java 7. I have not tested the software with later versions of Java, even though later versions were available.

6. Turn the device OFF and connect it to the PC using a USB cable. The display of the device will not show anything, but your PC should make a sound that a new device has been connected to it successfully, you might not find any new devices under the “Device Manager” in Windows, this is normal.

7. Run the firmware update software, make sure it is connected to the device and start the process.

8. After the process has finished, the display on the device might be on. Disregard that and unplug the device from the PC.

9. Check the firmware version on the device and make sure that it has updated.

10. Restart your PC to return to the normal driver signing verification mode in Windows.

Note: If you ever update the firmware for a different device (Transmitter/receiver/flash/whatever), repeat this entire process, including reinstalling the drivers. The drivers that are included with the firmware update software for flash triggers seem to not be working well with the flash, even though they show up under the same name.

I have used this successfully on the new XI triggers and receivers as well as the aforementioned AD360II-N and just need to do a couple of V860s

You forget to mention what the benefits of the new firmware are.

You forget to mention what the benefits of the new firmware are.

Each has benefits associated with the individual device, so the X1N T & R can now use 5 channels and not 4 using the same A-E groups instead of A-C + M making them ready for 2 channels to use the XTR16 & XTR16s controllers as an example so if you have the gear you will need to do your own reading to see if it benefits you. My purpose for posting was not about the individual specs, more to show that it can be done with win 8 & 10

Hello Mike,
I just upgraded all my godox triggers and the V860. When it came to updating the ad360ii-n I keep getting the error message: Connect Failed

I have installed the software a number of times and the USB drivers are installing successfully.

I think the following might be a problem or one of the issues as the 360 was powered on and flashed a few times:
"Do NOT connect the flash/trigger to the computer at this point. If you have already connected the device to the computer prior to the installation, you might have problems as the computer registers the device as unknown, and after that it gets pretty hard to make the computer disregard that."

Any ideas?

TBH Mike this is normally a case of reading the manual!
I use the Godox G1 software to update all my firmware on XT1n triggers and AD360ii - N flashes on Windows 10 just as Godox state and I have never had any problems with digital signing etc & it always works perfectly!

To update the devices must all be powered down

I have just installed on a laptop with USB 2 and get the same error message: connect failed. This is with the godox unit unpowered and last night I held the power on button, as instructed, for longer than 2 secs and haven't powered on since.

Cables are the most likely area of concern, just because they work with one device does not mean they work with another

OK - Silly me!!!!!!!!! The unit has two connectors - I got the standard male A to male A connector thinking this was the way to connect. If I'd read the manual I would have saved almost a day of faffing around as it's the USB micro connector to upgrade the firmware!!!

Does the firmware upgrade fix the canon low light AF assist problem? Wasn’t mentioned in Godox own notes so I guess not?

Thanks for this, I had to do this today, even though the driver appeared to install correctly, the XPRO trigger wasn't recognised until I did this step, after trying two PC's, 3 cables and 2 different types of USB port, with and without batteries being installed....
