Nikon D750 & D780

D750 in WB Auto1. D500 whatever it comes in from the factory!

Both at F4, 1/2000 and 280iso.

D750 is a slightly more cropped due to DX reach.

I needed to try the D500 side by side to get it out of my system! All it’s made me want to do now is get a lens with a bit more reach on FX!!

So not a fair test on the WB then

I know mate so he should process that D500 to the same white balance on the D750 then see the results

They were both in same auto mode and both have been edited using exactly the same settings through LR. It’s not just the WB, I have been using both with a couple of lenses and just prefer the D750 for most things!

Really once WB the same there not much init to my eyes

I’m not basing my choice on just one photo! Prefer the look of the photos, the detail, the overall handling of the camera etc etc.

Horses for courses and all that!

What about af point spread and joystick. That must be pretty nice?

I love the spread but the joystick i aint bothered about I still got pad set to do it lol

I find it crazy that the d750 has held it's value so well. Or actually gone up in price. If you trust camerabuster the best ever price was 1090£ in 21 march 2016 at callumet. Today it is 1579£!
I got mine nearly new slightly over 900£.
Thinking of the d500 which is a crop sensor and cost 1500£ is a bit bonkers really. I know it's not all about sensor size but it's crazy.
A bit like the price of the sony rx100 mk5 at nearly 900£ for a pocket camera!

They really like making money from the "pro-sumer"...

Prices are a bit skewed as camera prices went up across the board, then Brexit vote happened and prices went up again. I've not seen it as low as £1090 UK, only grey so that was one hell of a deal imo.

Wasn’t that when calumets price got mixed up with an offer where they accidentally offered double cash back o4rsomething like that? Not sure if they actually honoured that price. There was a point where grey was a great price especially with some selling on the 24-120 f4 kit lens on (it was soon notice on here and 24-120 lens prices dropped like a brick). One of the main reasons the D750 has held its price is because of the devaluation of the pound. If you take away the 20 odd per cent drop in the value of the pound it would now be closer to £1200 if that hadn’t have happened.

Thanks. Like this you mean? I think IQ is starting to drop too much. I'm hoping to get back out with a longer lens before the wheel goes.

Seen a few similar shots online and yours are by far the most interesting in terms of colour and lighting [emoji106]

Where were you actually setup to take the shot? Interested because I'm only 20 mins away from there myself. Maybe some snowy versions over the next few days would look good too [emoji846]

Thanks. Dobbin golf course at Tapton. I’m hoping to get some from the top of Hady as I think the Spire will be better lit from that side, had to really boost the exposure of the Spire on these. Thank god I had the D750 that allows you to do that without noise and colour issues (y)

But then the wheel might not be in the best position if you move round I guess...

Can you let us know what cypher key you're using please? :)

That maybe an issue yes, but I'm hoping that I can get the Spire, wheel and market hall in shot (technically the market hall is in shot in the other one as you can just see it though the wheel ;)). I'll just have to go up and have a look. It's not as though it's a massive drive for me ;)

So I got a bit p***ed off with paying for LR cc and PS CC so I have been pondering on a couple of other PP Apps and I have just purchased Skylum Luminar for windows.
I tested the trial 1st but I didnt get to test it that well as I got an emergency run to the middle of France but I was happy at how fast ish it ran and as someone said on their FB forum, if it worked well on your PC then go for it and buy.
For me it works well and the price is a one off payment with updates, now this could go on for a year or 2 then they could bring out a updated App but at this price I aint bothered.
