Nikon D750 & D780

Was that 3 days with no posts? Was thinking everyone’s sold up.
Had crap weather here so got no inspiration to go out but when the weather picks up it'll be.... Bug season [emoji3] [emoji3] [emoji3] normally by now the wild lavender is out but the cold and rain has put that back a month or so.

Just for information if anyone is looking to trade D750 WEX offer £850.

I still have mine - not jumped yet! Well maybe tomorrow might change that.
Only £2540 on panamoz now.

Gotta love that Sigma 35, since micro adjusting mine i'm over the moon with it. I've never had this performance out of it, here are a couple of shots from last weekend. We were in a brilliant rented townhouse for the weekend after travelling for my brother's wedding. Best man duties meant that I didn't really get chance for many shots on the wedding day but the day after was chilled out so got some shots of my daughter

Not much from me to post as this one has kept me busy, and I've been in the Sony thread
Traitor!

In seriousness: I'm curious what a new Sony A7III or A7RIII (excluding extra MP with the A7RIII) does for you over the D750? Or is it just a case you feel mirrorless is now mature enough to replace the dSLR and you want to "try" it more as an alternative than something better than the D750? Yes looking at the spec the A7III is a little better in most areas, but wondering what the reason for looking might be?

Thankfully gear doesn’t bother me so much anymore. The new versions may do some things slightly better, but there’s nothing groundbreaking in there that would improve my photography. I still love the files from my Nikon’s.

I've always wanted a FF mirrorless since having an XT1. I love EVF (with the WYSIWYG viewfinder), and the eye-AF would be super handy. It's also smaller. And I do enjoy buying and using new gear. Also I hate knowing my lenses may not be as sharp as they could because of AF fine tune and this isn't a problem with mirrorless.

On my home to apologise to me D750. I hope she forgives me. I have handled another body, I feel so wrong and guilty. I promise not to do that to you again.
You --> :angelic: :LOL:

I`ve been trying a few tripod ball heads but none seem to bite me but then I saw this, This is the small one of 3 sizes, Max 5 kilos but even with a 150-600 on board it`ll still be sufficient I think.
Not cheap but not expensive either compared to some out there but the quality seems very good (German made) So lets see how it fairs.

ooo, looks very fancy

Going to a shocking indoor venue tomorrow to watch the wife do dressage.

It hardly lets in any light and together with some really dull yellow lighting it is not a photographers best friend!!!

That nice and interesting but as you said not cheap!
Can you pan horizontally with it?

Hi Thomas, Yes you can do it all with this ball head but as I have found out is that you have to turn the camera so what the camera sits on it in line with the body and lens, watch this video and you will see. No sound needed.
This one does sit a bit close to the tripod top so a spacer of some kind is needed between the 2, I`m also getting a Panoramic head so hopefully that will sort it out if not I may have to see about a aluminium spacer made up.
Edit, sorry I forgot to put the link in, ah well, you know where YouTube is [emoji14]

I take it there’s no quick release system? Looks different ;)

Yep. Shot in those myself. F2.8 1/250th ISO 6400 and above. Biggest challenge is white balance.

Your right, but obviously it's possible to put one on the top but it really is not a problem as it's so fast to screw onto the camera.

I should have slowed my shutter speed I think. Today’s images were a bit s***. Doesn’t help that my editing is not great either!

Still, photos aside, the wife came 3rd so even if they were brown blobs she wouldn’t care!

Maybe I need a Sony lol

D500?

Anyway, couldn't fault him there today. He was very spooky and it was all new to him! Third out of ten too!

1st shot is very nice and well captured and as you say the lighting was s***e, this is excellent.
This last one, the selfie is also great.
Hope that horse got a carrot after :)

Thank you - he is very spoilt!

Was one of the worst venues light wise I have been too. A lot of places have better lights, but these are very dull and yellow with no light coming from the outside!
