That's a lovely clear and sharp shot of it. They normally head into the grass for me.
Glad its not just me that gets that :wacky:

Quite some… as I see it, the reward is pretty cool! (y)
Thanks Daniel, the rewards are always worth it, it's why I like this type of photography.

I often find that they fly away as well, particularly upsetting was a butterfly that I saw in February that would have been the earliest ever for me!

Blimey, that is early, it's been a particularly rough winter here, lots of rain, cold and lots of wind, this week is the 1st real descent week for sun. The other annoying thing with butterflies with me at least is when I'm following one, it lands on the perfect spot and..... Along comes another and they both fly off for some hanky panky [emoji34]

Very nice shot Sir, well framed, fine detail, and good colour.(y)

George.

Lovely shot Graham.

That's a really nice picture Graham.
Saw my first Brimstone of the year yesterday but couldn't get anywhere close it it.

Thanks, I'm in the south of France and it's only just began here really. Loads of brimstones here but like you, hard to get a shot of.
