Nostromo TP52 (2018) Week 51/2 : Party/Showcase

Well spotted and certainly unattractive. Nice colours!

What a good idea for Oval, Dominic! Excellent and distinctive details and perfect for the theme. B&W is the right choice too, to bring out the shapes and curves (y)
Straight - another good take on a theme. My first thought was that some of the handles aren't straight, but then I saw the lines of the fencing and the way the wheelbarrows are all lined up so it definitely works :)
Unattractive - there isn't any graffiti like this around where I live so I find it interesting and colourful, but I can see why it's unattractive when it's all over the place and the dumped and broken items below are definitely an unattractive sight.

Hi Dominic,
Straight - Similar conceptually to mine (I'd not seen your one before I posted) so fits the bill in my eyes. I think the mono conversion works well.
Unattractive - I like street art when done well (and in places where it's appropriate, not where the owners resent it) and this seems to have nicely done art. The rubbish is the unattractive part of the image to my eyes (and I suspect yours).

Wk 16-Shadow

This idea is one of the first things that popped into my head when i saw the theme for this week. I wanted to do it outside in the evening sun, looking out on to the gardens, but i never had the time when the sun was shining for those few days. So i had to improvise a little and did it on the living room floor. Looking straight down, using a flash.

Nice shot, I like the top view nice long shadows and you have put some thought into the BG excellent work

Fab work for Shadow!

Love it (y) ... a bottle of red and a glass, pure and simple ...

Great photo, simple and effective! And I love the behind the scenes shot!

Excellent shot for shadow, like that a lot, also really appreciate the pullback..its nice to see other folk have severe space limitations in there studios....

Straight - the b/w suits it I think it fits the theme there are lots of straight lines there
Unattractive - It is very colorful but it is unattractive too
Shadow - I like that, I particularly like that you have colour in the shadows,

Nice shot for shadow Dom

Thanks everyone for the positive comments, they're much appreciated. The shot actually came out pretty much how I envisaged it, which is always a good thing.

First for me, as you say perhaps a bit more DoF but it's good to see all the detail in the bells themselves

Dominic

Unattractive, I like the graffiti, but the rubbish does spoil the area and is unattractive.
Shadow, great Image, nice to see how you did it as well, was you Mrs out when you took it. I know I would get The Look if I brought some tatty old wood into the lounge just to take a photo.
Beautiful, well Bluebells are. I think you could have used a smaller apurature to get more dof with out affecting the background, did you manually focus? I don't get on with my macro lens at all.

Pete

As already said more DoF would work better but it’s hard with a macro lens unless you focus stack

The first image is definitely beautiful, Dominic, and I like the gentle greens and purples in the background. You've captured some super details in the flower heads and although it might benefit from some more DOF, I find macro is tricky to get just right and the overall gentle tones in this one are very pleasing (y)

Shadow - very nice set up and and captured

Beautiful - First one for me too very nice

Scary to be under a horse like that!, really dont trust the big lumps that much

Hehehe - why the long face? Fab shot!

I like the low POV, makes for a really interesting photo IMHO

That made me smile Dom, nice shot

Hi Dominic

Beautiful - I tend to agree with you on the DoF. I don't know 'owt about macro lenses so will defer to Allan's explaination about needing focus stacking (which I have totally failed with in the past).
Low - Well that's a shot that could give me nightmares for weeks! Love the sharpness of the eyes and the contrast of the scary beasty against the sky.
