So what film camera/bit of kit have you been obsessing about today?

My obsessing for a Bessa R/L has subsided for a moment.

I was watching a Bessa L, 15mm with VF, 25mm with VF and 50mm CV 2.5 - put £600 on it, sold for £625 :(

I still have my heart set on a Rollei 35 though. Le Mans 24hr is coming up and I'd like to take a small film camera of some sort along, to keep my digital bodies company

If my memory is working properly I recall that the Rollei 35 wasn't reliable...not sure if it was early types, teething problems or whatever. But people still use them so ????

I have read that they can suffer with shutter speeds below 1/30th getting slow/sticky, through lack of use. Other than that I hadn't heard of too many problems other than damage for dropping/misuse maybe?

I have had a Rollei 35E for over eight years, had it CLA'D when I got it and it has never missed a beat. Great camera and with the 28mm, 50mm and 70-210mm Rolleinar lenses is a great set-up.

I was tempted by one of these, but then I looked into the cost of LF consumables and decided to give it some more thought another time!!!

I’ve heard that the Chroma will take pretty much any Graflok compatible back so you can shoot medium format roll film (anything from 645 to 6x12), Fuji Quickload, Peel apart Polaroid, wet plate, dry plate or even Fuji Instax once the guy building them gets on with the back for it.

The guy who builds them is a top man and is more than happy to answer any questions ;0)

An excellent choice my good man. I’m chilling out with the family in CenterParcs this week but will be cracking on with them again next week :0)

It does seem that since the launch of the Chroma you have spent most of the time on holiday..... shocking. :D

Sounds good Steve :D

I'd want the full 4x5 experience though! One day!

10x8 is like 5x4 but more so :D:exit:

I have a Bessa L with the 25mm Snapshot lens that I could be persuaded to part with, I can stick it up in the classifieds if you're interested ;)

Don't tempt me!! I was quite keen on the 15mm, so haven't looked that much at examples from the 25mm. I'll have a look on Flickr.

I have a Rollei 35S on it's way courtesy of @Graham W so that has scratched one itch

I have only 2 camera wants at the moment and both may never come to anything as theyre both a bit on the pricey side. The Fuji GF670/Voigtlander Bessa III and a Konica Hexar AF

I had actually I had been deliberating over a broken Hexar AF all week. It had the usual 'dead' shutter, which pointed to the shutter button posibly. At £100 I thought I'd give it a go - I fix machinery from an electrical point of view, so even if it wasn't as simple as the button it was still worth the risk.
However, I noticed the covering was loose around the lens, and the top plate screws were worn - so it had been apart before. Seller was accepting no returns at all, so decided against it in case someone had tried and failed before!!

I was looking at it again yesterday still tempted to take the risk, but it sold last night, so that made my mind up!!

I've been looking for Super8 cameras recently and finally bit the bullet on a nice Nizo. Should be arriving today or tomorrow :)

I sold my 85mm lens earlier in the year, and now have nothing prime between 50mm and 100mm f/4. I do use a 35-70 zoom which, due to its construction, normally sits at and gets used at 70mm. So I'm looking for a prime somewhere round the 70/80/90 region... excellent quality only need apply, not too expensive!

Which system?

If you don't mind loosing a stop or two, there is always a 2X converter for 50mm. I have quite a few and find it's mix and match and keep forgetting what works best with what lens.....so bought a Canon 2X and tested it with Canon 50mm, 105 and 200, although I have the negs back will get around to pixel peep after scanning.

Both. Yes, A1 and I don't like paying over £20 for a camera plus lens. I prefer to pay £10.

Prices depend on how many decent film cameras are left in the world, an interesting thought:- in the UK, if just 5,000 decide to play with film for the summer months, will there be 5,000 cameras on the bay on in shops etc to meet a sudden demand.

Now my mojo has been given a bit of a kick I am back obessing about:

Leica any of them even an M8
Something 6x17
300 f4 for the Pentax 67, fancy doing more motoer sport photgraphy.
Nikon F2 SB
Olympus OM3
Canon F1n

I was surprised to learn you could still buy two new Nikon film cameras, and I think there's still one film Leica for sale, after they canceled the M7 the other day...
You can't. The Nikon FM10 was made by Cosina and production stopped a long time ago. I looked last year to see how much they cost and I could find none in stock in the UK or USA.

F6 production also stopped a long time ago and I don't think there have been any of those actually available for quite a while.

So much for Petapixel!

Grays of Westminster still have one in stock £1979

Nikkor 180mm f2.8 ED AiS. £280 from Ffordes. Already have a 200mm F4 AI that I haven't used much lately so why am I drooling over this lens? Madness.

Right now I'm obsessing over my nice black Pentax MX, as the film I devved today has variations in inter-frame spacing from nothing to about twice normal! I guess if I were using a flatbed I could probably frmae without losing much, but for the first time the inter-frame bars on the Plustek film holder means I'm losing some data. :(
