I've spent quite a long time trying to find out how to upgrade my LR6 to 6.14. Its's the perpetual version ie 'stand alone'. It's the last of its kind as Adobe have gone to cloud-based software. They said that updates will be available for it. There will be no LR7.

A friend has also tried and failed. Has anyone succeeded ? If so I'd really appreciate a link. We did try a link given on a chat forum for Lightroom but it just took using circles on the Adobe website. In the first paragraph was written. 'Consider LR6 CC.' I don't think anyone will be able to help but it's worth a try.

This link tells the story. At the bottom is a link for MAC OSX users (me). I clicked on it, it went into my downloads. I opened it...to an empty page.

Admittedly I am using the Windows version, but doesn't going to updates under the Help tab work?
Did with mine, just checked my standalone copy and its happily running as 6.14

Thanks,Ian. We tried that first link, it's about installing LR6 and we couldn't find anything about an update. I'm unsure what the second link is about. It brought up two downloads AdobePatchinstaller and payloads. I opened both and don't see LR6 update. I got a message on the installer one stating it's an application from the Internet and do I wish to install it. I better wait for my friend to look at them.

Tried that,Rich. On the iMac there is a facility for checking updates..an alert shows anyway but not on LR6. I've checked the Help option (LR6) and strangely all it refers to is the Mac. ie. Keep you Mac up to date and some other options relating to the Mac.
 
Updating Lightroom 6 using the option in the 'help' menu no longer works. You need to go to the update page on Adobe's web site where 6.14 is available for both Windows and iMac. I had to do this yesterday as I inadvertently de-installed Lightroom and had to reinstall.

Apologies,John. I didn't get an alert and thought the thread would be dead. I've been to the Adobe site where it's supposed to be and neither myself nor my neighbour who is well-versed in these matters can find the link to update but as you managed it it must be there.I see Ian has posted a link too..and Roger.

Thanks Ian. I've asked my neighbour to call round and look at this. I opened it..the red box 'Installer' and it was a box full of unintelligible script.
