So, obviously, my dad can't register on the forum, he would if he could, but this is his own work, Frank Spencer's posthumous entry. A picture of me, of course. 1949? Voigtlander Vito or, just maybe, a borrowed Leica. Film unknown. The ball is not a rugby ball but an american football brought on a visit by my uncle. It's in Victoria Park, Keighley I'm particularly well dressed, as always.

Extra kudos for an excellent example of f&c shoehorning. (y)

Yes, that's Morning Dress, bizarre. I was wearing it too... in fact I considered entering the shot of me on account of it showing a full head of hair, but sadly it wasn't taken by me even though on my camera. Lucky you!

Let’s see it anyway Chris without photographic proof we will never believe you had hair!

I'd say the older guys here probably have an advantage, well I have loads of pics going back donkey's years...h'mm now do I choose something interesting or something that might win a comp (well assuming I have one ;) )

Oh all right then...

Me as penguin.jpg

Same combo, Werra 1 (50/2.8 Tessar) and unknown film. Sticking those early negatives back in their envelopes without sleeves and keeping them in a box for 50 years or so didn't do them any favours!

Brilliant Chris, I never doubted you for a moment :D

Sometimes I do, as I stare at the ravaged remains in the shaving mirror each morning!
In my training courses I say to delegates that I'm a lot better looking without my specs. Generally someone will suggest that I take them off so that they can see if they agree, whereupon I explain that I actually mean I look better in the bathroom mirror before I put my specs on. An example of a misunderstood statement! o_O

Apologies for the delay folks, poll now added. Vote away!

Mark,

Very hard to get a film shot of that layout when all your film stock is on the table. :)

 they were empty boxes... the 35mm roll was exposed and ready to soup, and my film stock is in a couple of mahoosive catering icecream tubs in the freezer... my big problem is I don't thaw any out and use the damned stuff these days. :(

^^^^^^^^^^^^

I know how you feel, I have my first roll of 35mm in my F5 for what seems like over a year.

Well done TBY, wonderful shot with a very moving story behind it.

thanks folks... I'm sure Martin's somewhere down there having a mischievious laugh at me winning a competition with a photo of him...

I'll try and think of something for challenge 87 in the next hour or so and get something posted...

I have to say, it's probably one of the best photo's i've got of him

now, to say that he was a full time pro photographer for over 10 years, his shot of me wasn't half as evocative...

but to get a shot of him was an achievement really, as he was a sod for "mugging for the camera"

I made the mistake of saying "look dynamic" to him...

and again... "don't just stand there, do something interesting"...
