Owl and Kestral still at it

What a spectacle to behold!!
 
Great behavioural shots Rob, well captured.

I saw a Kestrel chasing a Long eared Owl with vole, into a conifer plantation the other night but it came out empty handed, so to speak.

Strange behaviour though, round here voles are plentiful this year. I've been watching owls taking Voles every 10minutes at some nest sites, the Kestrels just must find it easier to try steal!

I never knew that a bird of prey would try and steal from a different species.
They say every day is a school day and with thanks to the OP I hav learned something new :)
 
Great behavioural capture.

Repeated action over days makes think of overlapping territories.......with a learned behaviour if the Kestel's hunting technique is not succeeding???
