Lovely little camera, have fun! Wanted one for sometime.

It has been on my radar for a while now, i kept going back and reading reviews and looking at videos so decided to take the plunge with this one.

A combination of boredom and eBay means that I've just taken delivery of the 'Robert Capa/ Photographs' book by Aperture. It's a nice book, printed on what feels to be thick/ good quality paper and has been an interesting read.

A fairly productive day yesterday. I got some disposable cameras for 50p each at a car boot along with a Barclaycard compact camera for 50p. The Barclaycard camera is identical to the one I've just bought off eBay for £3.00.

At the flea market I bought a Beier Beirette K100 and a Minolta HiMatic S2 for £10 for the pair.

At Cash Converters I got an EOS 40D for £50 with a 1GB CF card full of some guy taking part in an Iron Man contest in Wales, 500 pictures in all.

Sorry that last part was off topic, I plan to take the film out of the disposables to feed my family. I'm aware that the film winds back into the cannister and plan to shoot the rolls off in my dark bag.

They have 200 ASA film in and expired in 2008 so I'll just shoot it at 100 ASA

The film in the five disposables was Klick film. Dexter says the original emulsion is Konica Centuria Super 200. This seems odd as the cameras themselves are made by Fuji.

I had another disposable that I bought a couple of weeks ago. It had no indication of ISO (in English). That one had an Agfacolour HDC 200 24+3 film.

My extension tubes arrived for the Hasselblad today, and they are quite fun to use! Had a go at taking photos of various small bits of the veg patch and hopefully even a bug or two! Takes some practice using mind! I feel a personal project thread coming on if they come out ok...

I would post a photo of them but I've ditched my smartphone so I can't!

I added my full set of extension tubes to the Pentax M 100/4 semi-macro lens, and found it almost impossible to use. Needs to be on the tripod, but focusing with the helicoid was pretty much impossible, and getting focus by moving the tripod was pretty unlikely! When the pics came back there's a heck of a vignette too. Just using 20mm of tubes seems to have worked better. It IS fun though, isn't it? :)

Yeah definitely, I found that turning the ring to focus didn't really have much effect so in the end I resorted to hand holding and then gently swaying back and forth on my feet to try and get the focus right. It's great fun though, and much cheaper than buying another lens too!

It's the depth of field/depth of focus switch. At normal distances, there's a lot of depth of field, but little depth of focus (i.e. the film has to be pretty much where it should be). At really close distances, the reverse applies, which means that it takes a lot of lens/film distance moving to see an effect. Hence it's easier to move the camera to and fro; and hence focus slides to let you do this easily.

Me too. Been lusting after an M6.

I nearly went for an M9, but the M6 was the right choice. I have wanted one for ages, and it will out last an M9.

It is going to have to work hard to knock my 35RD or SP off of top spot!

Oh flippin' heck!

I am so impressed with the Rollei 6003 Pro that I recently purchased, in fact it is the nicest camera I have ever used and the results from it 'blow me away' that I have only gone and purchased it's 'big brother' - the 6008AF. This was the last of the 6000 series cameras produced by Rollei and has every conceivable option available - I can't wait to start using it :)

Nowhere to put the film in an M9. Too much computer for my liking.

51EA91CD-7B57-4502-9B69-EE9DC12DC48B.jpeg Arrived this morning but it’s spares/repairs. Got a stuck shutter, I’ve had a look online and one guy has a guide to fix however I need to speak to a friend that knows electronics better than I first. Not confident messing about too much with flash capacitors inside etc just in case. If it is beyond repair it’s a nice little display piece!

Nice feeling when this happens , enjoy :)

just put some pics on my f100 sales thread for those that are interested

My newest toy - Wirgin Edixa 2MTL (actually, it is a Cosina Hi-Lite DLR rebadged for the failing Wirgin comany). All works well apart form the meter. I have not checked the meter yet as I do not have a suitable battery. The meter is a bridge type meter so the voltage of the battery is not going to be critical but I just do not have any button cells available at the moment. Definitely a well loved camera!

Looks like it could stop a few bullets!

I thought you may like to see the Mother.

Totally blaming @Andysnap for this.

Going to need a bigger shelf...

After getting the Rollei off him, getting a couple of rolls through it, scanning the results and scrutinising, I decided I needed to go just one centimeter more!
Picked this up off eBay in extremely tidy condition.

What! That was quick. How are you going to carry that beast with your poorly knee?

It'll go on the bike :) Knee is much better now too which is good news. Still not kneeling, but getting there.

£4.50 a roll and the processing will be cheaper, used to be the same price for 220 as 120 but I dunno if that's still the case, don't see much 220

I've been looking for an enlarger that can take 4*5 negs ever since I ordered my Intrepid camera last year - finally one came up on eBay at a reasonable price and within pickup distance. It's a Durst Laborator 1200. It's huge compared to my previous Omega C700 enlarger, though it doesn't really take up any more floor space. The enlarger head is nicely placed for banging your head on.

I had one, loved it, got some great result from it. I couldn't get used to the flash being underneath, it produced some odd results and using it upside down was awkward. Mind you, I didn't use the flash that often anyway.

some more goodies from west yorkshire cameras today. Fed4 and Voightlander Vito B both with cases very impressed.

Careful Todders, the Feds are cool but if the rangefinder bug bites it can get quite expensive [emoji39]

That's a nice clean looking example btw. If it shoots as well as it looks you'll get some good images from that Industar.

Hah I was referring more to the lure of the red dot than to the price of film. The Leicaflex SLR's are certainly tempting and a lot more affordable than the M's. My last SLR purchase was a toss up between the Leicaflex SL or the Nikon F2. I bought the F2 but I can't help but wonder what I've missed out on.
