Feeding Shield bug

It's one of those things, we know they've not got like that by eating jam butties, and we've read in books that they feed off plants, but your photos capture the moment beautifully and remove any doubt. Well done for taking the time to track this behaviour down and capture it so well, (y)

Thanks for the kind comment, considering the amount of free time I spend looking into the undergrowth I'm surprised I hadn't seen this before.

I do this, too. Get some odd looks from people passing by.

Nicely done, by the way.

Not seen them doing this - great to get a behaviour shot like that.
Cheers Chris

Thanks Paul, the odd looks do amuse me and are probably warranted when they see me laying on my belly in a field taking pics of what looks like clumps of grass from an outside observer's pov.
Nice close shots without stacking. Very nice.
Thanks Shane, handheld stacking is a bit hit and miss for me so if I can get a good dof without stacking I will. Saying that the shield bug was so still while feeding I might have been able to get a good stack, oh well.

Lovely work Ryan
