Show us yer film shots then!

We went on a walking holiday at Adelboden in the Bernese Overland, Switzerland. The usual conflicts of being in a group doing something else while still wanting to do some photography, so in the end these are just holiday snaps really.

(it's a blast in Sirch Towers on a Friday night, I can tell you :geek:)

I won't laugh too much, as I'm sitting here on a Friday night looking at the pictures and reading this stuff! Anyway, you're obviously in need of some excitement so are you going to attend tomorrow's short notice F&C mini-meet at Astle Park Steam Rally?

Can't make it, domestic duties unfortunately, have a good time.

Taking out my NIKON L35AF Compact loaded with 'Jessops Pan 100' found in freezer, of 'Unknown Age' -- i processed in home-made ID11 1+1 for 8.5 mins at 22Oc and negs were 'thin' but scanned well. I CUT the film. Next time I will give longer development time . Here is 'The Best Cafe in Brentwood' -- owned by a West Ham Footballer i go there and have a 'Special £3-50 Breakfast' -- Fried Egg, Bacon,Sausage, Tomatoes OR Baked Beans, Hash Brown, Crusty Toast OR Crusty Bread, Tea OR Coffee and lots of 'Brentwood Characters' get in there like 'Arthur' the Old Guy who is a Soccer Football Fan and knows all about Brentwood Town Football Club, as well as Firefighters and Builders -- Great and CHEEEEP !

A couple from Oulton Park that were contenders for 'Speed' probably better than the shot I eventually went with.

Are the Portra shot at box speed and are they edited at all for saturation etc? I've got a couple of rolls to try for landscapes. I've decided I'm not massively keen on Ektar so have been looking for some alternatives (trying Portra and ProImage next).

Yes, shot at box speed (160 did I say?). There's a touch of vibrancy added to them (around 0.15 in Aperture's terms, which probably doesn't mean anything to anyone else these days) but no additional saturation as such. They also have a Levels adjustment and a slight (different) curve in each case, plus a boost to definition rather than sharpening.

The first shot was on Vista; I took an almost identical shot on a later day with the Portra and it looks the same except for the grass on the hill slope which is a little less bright.

I have found Portra 400 a bit more saturated if you over-expose it slightly; for a while I shot it at 250 or 320.

What's upsetting you about Ektar?

This, for me, is one of the best photographs I've seen on here in a while. I really like the composition and the exposure - in what are hilariously tough conditions - is spot on.

Agreed, and I was actually expecting it to have been shot on infrared film when I saw the glowing leaves and sky.

Finally got round to developing some Velvia 100F, shot months ago, once I'd saved enough rolls to get a Tetenal E6 kit. Most of the roll was overexposed since I had overcompensated for the expiry of the film.

Really liking that a lot, have clicked on the Flickr link and would love to see it bigger and on black, it would really set it off.
