Hi,

I will be travelling to Ireland in early September, mainly the west and southwest coast. I have a few shots in mind already (Skellig Islands, Cliffs of Moher and Downpatrick Head) but am looking for some more inspiration and advice on particularly scenic locations for sunrise and sunset (hills, beaches, cliffs, lakes etc), especially around the Beara Peninsula, the Burren (limestone pavements) and Connemara.

I have the following self-drive itinerary planned - the first part is already booked and I will be travelling with a friend, but the last 4 nights are still flexible. I'd like to take in as much as possible.

1 night Dublin
1 night near Cork
1 night Beara Peninsula
1 night on the Ring of Kerry
1 night in Killarney
2 nights in Doolin
1 night in Connemara
1 night County Mayo (Ballina)
back to Dublin

any tips and specific locations would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
Chris

Stayed in Dingle, for a week, and drove the Dingle peninsular (part of the wild atlantic way), which was fantastic, with great views etc etc. Also if time, try visiting the Blasket Ises. So much to see and do, we are back there again next year.

If you go to Dingle worth photographing Dunquin Harbour see a photo I took:

Also a bit further along the road at Coumeenoole Beach Park up and take a short hike around the top of the cliff past Devils Horn there’s great place to photograph Dunmore Head and the surrounding islands including the “Sleeping Giant”.

Gap Of Dunloe is also worth a drive around especially if you go early morning as there’s hardly any cars or late evening. See a few more photos I took from the area:
