Playing with filters: RB67, Pan F, Yellow Filter (f11, 1/8sec)

Very nice, Ian, but surprisingly buckets of grain in the sky given it's Pan F! Any particular reason you can think of?

Probably post processing heavy handed-ness. Still getting to grips with sharpening large files (sharpen edges not grain) and the sky was flat so I tried to recover in post. There's not much detail there unfortunately - hence all that could be recovered was noise. I quite like it though.

I shouldn't say this, as it isn't conventional, but when sharpening I do it on selected areas and don't sharpen the sky. I have been known in some cases to apply a small amount of Gaussian blur although this is definitely unnatural looking if even slightly overdone.

Didn't realise this tree was such a big deal when I shot it. I had never even heard of it! I just happed upon it on the 17 mile drive near Pebble Beach. Apparently it's one of the most photographed trees in North America. Ha. Can tell I am not a landscapist!!

There is a reason you stopped to shoot it.
Anybody can go out, find and recreate photographs that they know have already been shot.
On one hand, its a pita finding out its not your tree, your shot, your discovery, but on the other its conformation that you're looking at and seeing the right things.
Not the actions of a non landscapist....:)

Very kind of you to say, thank you.

WoW ! THAT TREE is still there ! I also took it in the early 1980's on a 'Pentax Club of Great Britain' trip to California -- is it Monterey ? I remember I used Pan F processed in the original powder 'Promicrol'

While perhaps not the highest quality photos, there's a lot of fun to be had with instant photography.

Please excuse my crappy handwriting (and the fact that I've erroneously written Corsa Italia instead of Corso Italia on some of them).

I do love the consistency in colours from the Instax films. If only the Impossible/Polaroid Originals stuff was as good. Love, love instant photos. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, there's a lot of pleasure to be had from getting the finished print back in just a minute or two. I've ordered an album to put them in, but there's one stuck on the fridge too already. :)

All mine are in a shoebox except for one that's in one of those little picture holder clip things on my desk. :)

This is a brilliant device for dealing with the Xpan in vertical format, which otherwise can look a bit weird. Great stuff, FL.

Thanks Chris. I originally did it in an effort to post vertical shots without them being too tall to view on a monitor. But it does work quite well. I feel a B&W version coming on...

Great stuff. I think there's something extra special about multiples, triptychs and so on. The idea doesn't seem very popular though, I vaguely remember suggesting a thread for groups of images that work together, and it went nowhere.

My daughter in law has made a group of 4 pictures, individually quite small, on their wall. They show my son surfing, or on beaches with his surf board. Individually the images are nothing special (he's too far away, in the wrong place in the frame, etc). But she has a real eye and has made a group that really grabs my attention each time I see it. I think yours might do the same for you.

Print 'em and hang 'em!

Thanks Chris, and yes, totally agree about the appeal of multiple images. I'm definitely tempted to print and hang these as a group after seeing them together on-screen. Not my intention, but this has turned out to be quite inspiring.

I recall reading a thread over on APUG where a guy had been using a Rolleiflex attached to a panoramic head to create sets of three or five shots. His printing and mounting skills were extraordinary. That thread lead my interest in panoramic cameras, and eventually purchasing the Xpan.
