Wild Tonights Barn Owl (just missed the perched up shot)

My visit tonight was just a chilled out night after not doing much for the last few days and i needed some fresh air,anyway i put a makeshift perch up tonight more in hope that something may land on it as i have noticed the Kestrels have been pretty active in the area both male and the female ..I only had a few hours as i was due to meet someone later in the evening so i took my phone with me as i was just waiting for a message so after the first hour had past and the weather was looking a bit dull and windy i started messing with my phone ,checking old photos checking facebook etc when i just looked up and yes the Barn Owl had just landed right in front of me on the perch i had placed ,i put the phone down slowly and tried my best to to get my hands on the camera and viewfinder and focus ready to grab a shot ,i managed to do that but at the same time the Owl turned it's back on me ,i tried all the noises to get it to turn back to me no luck as it flew off on the the next gust of wind,talk about beating myself up so annoyed as i am normaly more alert ,but luckily it only flew a few yards to my right and landed ....nearly a cigar moment

Lovely

Very, very nice, Den...and such an unusual perch for a Barn Owl, and by that I mean it greatly differs from the usual fence / post and all the better for it.
