We did do Edinburgh a few years back but I’d be happy to make another visit if there was enough interest.
I think there was a visit to the Yorkshire Dales or Derbyshire a couple of years ago too? The reason I agreed with Excalibur's suggestion of Wales is that you're only a fairly short drive from a lot of different habitat and landscape types, and the proximity of things like steam railway trips, slate mines and towns gives some fairly sheltered opportunities for photography if it's rainy and/or windy. :)

Not yet home (at Premier Inn, jn 42 M6) but we had a glorious sunny day in Tomintoul and the Cairngorms after a dull but dry start in Grantown. Best day so far for weather. Sorry :D

Rain was a pretty big feature that weekend too!

That reminds me, where is Dean these days?

@kendo and @steveo_mcg we have brought back a Tesco bag from Onich that has a box of muesli in it, and also a bottle of peaches that may have been left out after being opened). There are Edinburgh receipts in the bag. Does it belong to either of you?

I only shot 4 sheets of 5 x 4 and they were all basically the same, sunset at Onich.

Here's the best of a bad bunch. Wista 45 Field, Nikkor 180mm f5.6 on Fuji 160NS.

Fully understanding the personal difficulties here chap, to my eye, the green channel needs dropping down a touch... the sky between the mountains and the big cloud are way too green imho.

Could be....

I think they were looked out to be taken home by someone  :$

Even auto colour correct lets me down. :(

We could probably get it to Old College before we go back on Wednesday, or it's possible our son (who works in Edina, part of IS) could bring it in...

EDIT: D'oh, should have read through the thread before posting this!

Looks fine to me Andy, dont let the colour fascists get you down.

It's one of those shots that still looks good when you play with the colour sliders in Photoshop so you can adjust to how you like it....anyway as it is, it looks ok to me. (y)

And, finally, we're home. Left Carlisle, went to the cafe at Chesters on Hadrian's Wall, popped over to Kielder Water, back to Chesters, then to Penrith via Hartside Top and thence M6 etc and home. Tomorrow I'll sort out the film for processing and eventually if there's anything worthwhile, I'll post.

If you are passing Old College you could leave it at reception for Evey, otherwise it doesn't really matter :)

Thanks anyway..

Collected cats from cattery, demonstarted camera obscura to single visitor, went into Brighton and got three films developed. Comments are unnecessary as the photos speak for themselves (sort of).

And just to prove that I've heard of this new fangled colour stuff:

Very much like the last one @StephenM ;....looks to be @nikki_s sat there?

As already said, yes; I noticed the reflection in the frame and thought it presented an opportunity not to be missed. Here's a more straight photograph.

And while we're on more straight portraits:

And back in my comfort zone, Ballachulish slate quarry again.

All the photos so far were on 35mm film - my first foray into small format since 2011! I have another colour film from an Exakta which I haven't found, so that will have to be processed another day. The new to me Ross Ensign yielded 3 out of 8 images, which pleased rather than upset me, given that I started by overwinding to frame three, and didn't get the hang of shutter cocking etc. until I'd made a few mistakes - I knew that I hadn't managed the interlocks at the time. That film has obviously been developed, but I've been relying on the supplied low res scans for posting, and the lab amazingly didn't have holders for 6x9, so scanned a 6x7 portion instead. This is one of the three, posted more as a sample of what the camera can do, since obviously the composition is rather affected by cutting off about 30% of the area.

Lens shows good detail and contrast, once you get the hang of its operation it will be a great performer.(y)

@Carl Hall @kendo1 @steveo_mcg @ChrisR

Andy posted all your stuff back to you yesterday. Some of you still owe me money for food etc and I also will need to refund the good housekeeping deposit to those of you who paid it (it's due to be returned to me sometime next week). When I know how much we're getting back (hopefully all of it!) I'll do some exceedingly complicated calculations to work out who actually owes money to who!! :)

Working out the FPOTY scores should be easy-peasy after these calculations.

If anyone's interested, my digital photos from (and of) the event can be found here. For some reason, I appear in a couple, so someone must have prised the camera from my hands.

I usually try to adapt camera to job in hand, and for the interior photos of people the high ISO (plus image stabilisation) makes the A7R2 my camera of choice for the job. There are also a number of outside photos, for which I apologise, but again it was simpler to use a digital camera for what were essentially record shots.
