1st shot is stunning Mark.
I see these regularly here in the Gorge du Verdon France but I have never seen them land on a place that is accessible to humans well unless you are a wall climber or whatever they call themselves.
They always land on small ledges 500/600 metres up a sheer wall.

I think we were around 1800m up a small mountain on a sort of plateau with a steep drop into a river below. These birds use the updraft daily to help them soar high into the sky. Thanks for commenting.
 
Very nice. Reminds me of when I was near Tarifa with all those wind turbines and saw a griffon being hit by a blade - very depressing, bird dropped dead like a stone,so much for environmentally friendly!!
I am a miserable bugger, but I like your photo!!
