Winding down to Baker street

Well exposed, good composition and very good of the people to arrange themselves like that :), a really good photo IMHO

Agree - really good photo. Works so well in mono to give it that certain look becoming of an old historic station

Cheers both of u pleased because it was on my list before leaving home and was lucky I was there literally there for 10 minutes could have waited ages for a nice combination

Great photo depicting that lovely old station, first underground railway in the world.
Always enjoyed changing there, could really imagine the original steam Metropolitan line trains

Thanks Rich i never knew that so once again i have learnt something.

Worked in Baker St for 2 years - nice platform and great in every way, composition, people, lighting etc...

WHere is the exact place? I mean: on Baker street station. But which line/platform? Thanks

Thanks Simon your dead right we travelled straight there from Liverpool street on circle line. I took loads in a short space of time but was lucky with the first shot that you see here.

That's platform 5 or 6 (they both look the same) on the Hammersmith & City and Circle Lines.

The arched ducts originally led to the outside, to allow smoke and steam to escape from the steam locomotives used for hauling the original trains.
The whole place looked a lot nicer when it was refurbished in the 1980's and is looking pretty shabby now, and could benefit from a thorough clean up.
The arched ducts in the OP's photo look particularly filthy.
