Despite my urge to have this challenge's theme as Cadbury's Flake based ice creams I decided that may be a little too 'niche' even for the good folk of fusty & crusty. So instead, In light of our recent meet up in "that London" the New Old Film Challenge #99 is 'CAPITAL'

Capital cities, capital ideas, capital cash, capital letters. Get your shoehorns out and interpret that however you see fit.

Usual rules apply:-

Must be taken by you
Must be made on film
Must have been taken, developed and scanned prior to the start date
Feel free to include details of the camera, lens, emulsion and anything else of relevance if you wish.
One Entry per person

Entries in and submitted by sometime on the 28th January and the poll will go up shortly after for 3 days

Discussion thread can be found here

Well I have a shot of Horseguards taken about 50 years ago using a Pentax S3

3 years ago me and Shireen started to walk the Capital Ring, it's a 78-mile route around London and is divided into 15 walks, so far we have managed 3 sections and my cunning plan of shooting 1 roll of film per section has faltered a little but this is my favourite shot from the first section that runs from Richmond Bridge to Osterley Lock.

This was down near Richmond Bridge, shot on a Nikon FM2n with the legendary 105mm f2.5 lens on Agfa Vista 200 and tweaked in Lightroom.

Old City Hall, Toronto (capital of Ontario) from my first visit in 1980. That would have meant the Praktica PLC2 and the note says Hoya 28mm with Agfachrome CT21.

I've skated on that pond in winter but in front of the new building. Recognised it straight away before reading the description! Great to see the old city hall.

Hong Kong circa 1966, Exa 1a with 50mm lens, Kodachrome 64 I think (I was about 10, learning from my Dad):

And another of Scotland's fair capital, well 2 views actually, one model and one actual.

Mamiya C330f, Mamiya Sekor 80mm lens on Portra 400.

Well done @Carl Hall and @Mr Badger as joint winners you can sort it by discussion, Rock Paper Scissors lizard Spock, or fisticuffs at dawn, your choice. The next one is the centenary challenge so it better be a good one :D

Congrats to both and 2 completely different interpretations of the topic! (y)

Thanks. Blimey, there's nothing like piling on the pressure is there?! Well done to the others too as, once again, there were some strong entries there.

Well @Carl Hall , what do you reckon... shall we have a think over what's left of the weekend, then swap some ideas via pm and pick something?

Congrats to both, good competition this challenge.

well done both, great images and interpretation

Wow, thanks everyone! Congrats to @Mr Badger too. There were a lot of very good entries this month, well done everyone.

Mr Badger I will PM you in a bit :) Perhaps we could have one of the themes "abstract", "things with faces" or "after dark" so that I can get some ideas for FPOTY :LOL:

erm wouldn't "after dark" be daylight :D

:p no confusion if "night shots" were used, and a bit unfair for people living on the north and south poles with less negs to choose from o_O ;)
They'd have twice the opportunity in winter though, plus they wouldn't have to stay up late and they wouldn't need a freezer to keep their film in. :)

Anyway, stop distracting us, Carl and I are busy trying to think of the next theme... can't you smell the burning wood?! ;)

Ah Keep up the good work as I'll probably have something shot at night or erm even try a shoehorn with daylight shot (after dark) and you are showing no consideration to people living on N & S poles as they would have to take night time shots in temps up to -50c.... Anyway all a bit of fun to "lighten" up a miserable Monday morning.
