Death by photography

Sadly for the (unfortunate) victims, the number of competitors for the Darwin Awards never seems to diminish ~ some might argue that is good for the future of the homo sapiens!

And I read this linked to the bbc news article and right below it , woman in the USA gets mauled by a Jaguar in a zoo ,you guessed it takinga selfie ,, th3 mind boggles

You know how cats like to bat at jiggly new things?

I'll just go and jiggle next to this 200 lb apex predator that just happens to be a cat.

Be fine.

Here is a Darwin Award candidate. We were at a Grand Canyon veiw point where we watched the guy in the shot climb over a fence on to a very narrow snow and ice covered ledge then walk out to where you see him in the shot. The temperature was about -4'c a slip would have seen him fall a few thousand feet. I don't know why he thought a photo from this position would have been any better with his point and shoot camera than from where we were stood.2019-03-11_07-20-13.jpeg2019-03-11_07-20-25.jpeg

But at least their nomination can have photo documentation attached

Unfortunately some photographers do stand in stupid places, just to get "that shot". Nor is limited to the "selfie takers"

I heard of one trying to leave an enclosure one night at a safari to get a picture of the lions
The guide " you cant do that"
Tourist "Yes Its ok, ive got a flash on the camera"o_O

Oh the crazy selfie shooters are hilarious loads of Chinese and Koreans pop there clogs every year backing off cliffs with selfie sticks raised.

Saw that, but thought the lion-specific one (my personal favourite) was worth a post. (y)
