Have to say for the price they are fantastic, I use them on my Nikon SB900 flashgun. Just one thing to be aware of is which flashgun ,some may not connect , so i would go for a pixel X800N pro if i could not get the nikon SB900/910 version which is now out of production

Caveat emptor applies here as much as elsewhere I suppose.

There are some bargains to be had - eg the Sony RX100 Mk iii for £379. Sony offers £100 cashback on top making it a bargain.
 
I can only say as I find. It pays to look elsewhere as well, before buying off Amazon prime . Adding £54 is double what I paid for the above to me it is a rip off

As with Black Friday "Deals" always worth checking https://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/ and seeing what the price was before the "deal"

Quite often find that the item has been cheaper recently
 
Sony A6500 prime day deal. £949. I called Sony and asked can I claim the £300 cashback offer on this. No is the answer.

This morning the same camera is down to £941 (one left at the time of typing sold by Amazon)

Always look around first. I've had a few deals on there but it's not always the best place to buy.

Did they give you a reason for why you cannot claim the cash back?

The thing was Amazon had a huge ad saying claim £300 cashback under the camera
 
As the camera is a few years old now I thought with the cashback £600+ is ok. I had actually bought it when a bulb moment came in my head. That's why I called Sony. Soon as they said no, I canceled the order.

The price worked out no difference from buying from John Lewis full price and getting the 300 back. (With JL you would at least get a 2 year warranty)
 
Whist I do tend to look around, I would never buy anything of more than £10 off ebay and certainly nothing electrical.

I think I recall that when Canon had their cash backs promotions there was on the appropriate webpage a list of the resellers who were in the qualifying group. Cannot remember which purchase but fairly sure as per the OP's mention of Amazon having 'cashback' on the item page.....there was a link through to the Canon cashback page!

It there was in the case of the Sony was it a click through to the Sony terms? If so one or both Amazon and/or Sony got something wrong???

On the Sony page it say Amazon was one of their sellers to claim cashback
 
I read a report this morning that some people did very well out of Prime Day, apparently due to a cock-up some people were seeing lots of camera gear priced around $95 (yes this was in the US) one guy spent $1000 and got $10,000 worth of cameras/lenses.

Personally I was happy with the stuff I bought on Prime day, they were genuine discounts, I guess you always need to compare prices and know what you are buying.

I found that recently as I bought qualifying kit, it say's Amazon UK
But mine came, ( before the prime deals) from Amazon Sarl.
I'll try it, but TBH I'm not holding my breath. ( It was good price anyway so no great loss if I don't get the cash back)

Never used ebay, and if they carry in trying to trick/force me into signing up to Prime I won't be using Amazon much longer

Sign up for prime. Go straight to settings (or call them) and cancel it straight away. 30 days of free delivery and all things prime :)

Been buying bits off ebay for years and haven't been ripped off yet. Had a few non payers and things not turning up, but always got my money back from ebay/paypal with them.

I wouldn't buy electrical from there though unless it was a proper UK seller (for example Argos). Definitely not from Happy Larry in China.
 
I bought a Sony A6500 from Amazon on prime day paid £899, I subsequently registered it with Sony with no problems and I have tried in the past to register a grey product and was refused, couple of days later I received an email offering me the free extended warranty which I of course was happy to accept, so I am reasonably confident I will get the cash back, I will only know for sure of course when my thirty days are up and I can try to claim it.

If you buy something without checking the prices it's your fault. They put a price on there and let you make an offer to buy it, it is basic contract law.

After 20 years shopping online you get savvy when it comes to things like these, a quick google will tell you whether you are paying for a fair price or not. There are also plugins to tell you with a click of a button it’s price history.

I have saved thousands buying on Amazon, using price tracking.

I don't spend much on amazon, only stuff I can't get in shops locally, they are useful for that, haven't used them for a couple of months and just made a total order of £5.99 with free postage, I don't need or want prime or the hassle of cancelling all the time :banghead:
Got caught out a while back when they did auto sign up unless you actually noticed and opted out. crafty sods

Although to be fair, I did buy a few bits from Amazon recently and "allowed" my self to be conned into signing up to prime, on the first purchase.
As I just knew I'd be buying more accessories :D

and .............................................................. yesterday afternoon I ordered something on Amazon, which is when they tried to sneakily make me join Prime, seems I did manage to avoid it this time.
Expected delivery 25th to 27th July, it actually arrived this morning :D
Just had an email from Amazon telling me it has been dispatched and still giving the
other delivery date !!!!
 
Wanted a few things that were only available to prime members so signed up for 30 days. As soon as the stuff arrived, cancelled my membership.
 
Bargain HERE for an xxl north face jacket. £31.92 at the time of writing.

I just did this today....oddly it's my second 30 day free trial on the same account!
Think I got the first free trial over a year ago....maybe it resets every year.
Not complaining though....get my HSS speed lights tomorrow!:banana:
 
Prices do change a lot - last week they had the Fuji WP126S battery original for i think 29.99, now its 51.99!

A couple of times I've come across a screen and it won't let you proceed until you "Try prime" that is taking the p***.
It means you have to agree and then go back and unsubscribe, I guess they are betting that some people forget.

It does, but I've also had more than one free trial in a 12 month period. That was a few years ago, and I don't use Amazon very often now, so they may have tightened up.
