Irix 15mm f2.4 - Filters?

I know that some here have/have used the Irix 15mm f2.4 lens and I am wondering what they did for filters.
If you have used the lens and used it with filters, could you let me know what filter equipment you used and found compatible ... any 'quirks'/'issues' please?
 
I nearly bought one but couldn't find enough info to make the plunge. Good lens though. IIRC @gad-westy had one (I nearly made an offer on one he sold me the same time I bought a 24 and 50mm art off him).

Some sources I read say they take a 95mm adapter ring and 100mm filters - others say you need a dedicated adapter. In the end I bought a 14-24 and SW150 filter kit.

Thanks Steve, I watched a video that showed the guy using a 'push-on' adapter which the holder fitted onto but I can only see 'screw-on' adapters from Irix.
In theory it looks like any 95mm adapter would work and any compatible holder would suit but I am conscious that with such a wide-angle lens a mis-match could have a major impact on any images.

It's the front element I have concerns over - normally an ultra wide lens has a bulbous front element (and often an integral hood - see 14-24 and Ziess 15mm) meaning a rather fancy solution.

I've never seen an Irix 15mm - but does the front of the lens have a screw thread to attach and a non bulbous front - if so I'd take a chance on a 95mm adapter ring and your standard filter holder. If not - google or hit a decent camera shop and seek advice.

I suspect it will vignette massively whatever the solution. the 14-24 is nuts for this even with the fancy lee system.

Although the front element is bulbous, it sits below the level of the outer front edge of the lens, so screw-on filters work fine.
I suppose screw-on would be one way to go, it's just that I have always used the likes of Lee square filters in the past so have little experience of using screw-on.
 
This thread peaked my interest as it is a lens I have been thinking about buying so I've checked it out and it does have a 95mm filter thread and Lee do an adapter to fit but only for the 150mm filter system, which I think would be better and cheaper than the type that clamp around the outside of the lens, as for the front element if that was a problem I don't think there would be a filter thread on the lens.

I'd try a 95mm adapter ring from Lee and just go with the the above post - SW150 time.

Sorry for this it seems I was given duff information there is in fact a 95mm adaptor ring available for the 100mm system. :coat:
 
Looks like Carmarthen Cameras do at least some of the Irix filters so I've ordered a screw-in 95mm CPL and 10-stop ND ... will see how it pans out. :)
