WAMT....what annoyed me today!

Getting home after 8 fabulous days in Scotland.
How anyone who lives in the region gets anything done is beyond me.
Simply breathtaking.

I understand completely.

I've been lucky enough to have visited north west Scotland for many years and it is still magical.

I've been in Gairloch for the last two and half weeks and apart from today it has been glorious. A few days were too hot to sit out in the sun and most days I was in a T shirt while working in the garden, but even when the weather isn't brilliant the scenery still is.

Glad you enjoyed your trip. Are we going to see some photos?

Dave

BTW. You are now addicted.

I made the mistake of joining the Gairloch Facebook group. Now every time I see a post I just want to be back there. I'm definitely addicted. Ah, next year - booked before we went this year............

Not so much annoyed but mild disappointment. Just had official notification from Ticketmaster that the Ozzy gig I was going to next year has been postponed again. (It was originally February this year but was postponed as he got pneumonia at the end of last year.) Now he is suffering from his neck injury from his quad bike accident a few years back.
Hopefully he gets well soon.

Ordered something from Amazon on Wednesday for delivery between 12th & 14th. Got an email on Thursday to say it was dispatched and would be delivered on the 12th. All good as I'll be in all day.

Got a notification yesterday while at work that it was out for delivery. Ok, so I texted my neighbour and asked her to look out for the courier and take the parcel in. I then got a notification from Amazon that the parcel had been "handed to resident". Seemed a bit odd that the cat had managed to answer the door so just assumed they meant my neighbour.

So I got home but my neighbour didn't bring it over (I wouldn't be able to collect it) but it was chucking it down and I was in no rush so thought no more about it. Spoke to her this morning and she said she never saw anybody! Turns out they'd just left it down the side of the house in the rain and it had been there for 24 hours!

I certainly never thought of the wheelie bin as being a "resident"!

I'm guessing their PDA ( or whatever) doesn't have the "No one here, CBA to find someone else, so left it in the p***ing rain" option ?

Listening to the racist sat across the aisle on the bus talking on his 'phone in a loud voice about how "the place was crowded out with c**ns and w*gs". :( :( :(

They let us into Brands Hatch early this morning so people could watch the F1. Sat down in one of the restaurants to watch and a marshall complained they were showing it as he wanted to watch the race in full later without knowing the result, so they switched the TV off.
All the bloke had to do was sit with his back to the screen, the sound is turned off.

Discovering that I've somehow contrived to lose the eyecup off a camera for the first time in 35 years of owning a camera with a detachable eyecup.

Only a tenner to replace but

anything else you want explaining?
Yeah why you singled him out for NOT disagreeing with the comment as he never agreed with it either.
And yet the 2 that did you never mentioned them.

If you have a problem with Andrew use the ignore button.

he has the right of reply doesn’t he maybe he would like to do that rather than you having a go at me for some odd reason

Maybe he would ? we'll see (y)

 Having a go? Get real.
I was replying to your replies.
There is a right to reply remember?
So I'll just leave that there for now then (y)

I had to "show ignored" to see what was going on. I don't think anything I can write will alter things for the better so I'll just continue to ignore him. Thanks, Cobra.

Ordered a pizza stone off Amazon. It arrived and I opened it up to find it cracked and broken on one corner. Went online to return it and got the option of a new one to be sent out the following day. Guess what? Also arrived cracked and broken in half.

RAIN !!

Do I need to say more ?

.... I love taking photos in the rain. I stood in a field yesterday for 7 hours taking pictures of steam trains. I was dressed for it but still got damp but my enthusiasm was not dampened.

What annoyed me today? < A report that The Cenotaph had been desecrated by the XR mob.

Closest I can get is the arc above...

A while back I had a moan in Tesco about the fact that when I do the scan and shop thing I frequently get stopped for a random check, was told is an auto generated thing and they have no control over it must admit it hasn't happened so often since.
Popped into a different Tesco on the way back home from hospital, and yes it happened again, this time I was told it could be because I wasn't in my usual shop and the other that triggers it is the time you take between scanning you clubcard and getting to the paypoint and how long you spend in say the clothes and home departments!!!

Makes no sense to me, I am a go in get what I need and leave so rarely even 30 minutes in total

WAMAW (All weekend) Quite a few motorists, all with one headlight out. What makes it worse is that they know they have a blown bulb because they have their fog lights on to compensate.

Quite common at this time of year as it starts to get dark early
That coupled with how difficult it can be to change some headlight bulbs

It could be they're owners of cars that require the dismantling of the front of the vehicle to change a bulb. The ones I've known tend to leave it until the car's in for a service.

Also car related: slow drivers on slip lanes. Twice over the weekend, I was on a slip lane to join a 60mph dual carriageway. On both occasions, the car in front of me was not accelerating with enough speed (one was doing about 30mph and the other around 40 mph) and they were still travelling at those slow speeds once they'd joined.

People bitching about Eliud Kipchoge's sub-two hour "marathon" time. Yes, he had pace setters acting as windbreaks; yes, he had special Nike shoes; yes, he had a car marking the optimal line with a laser pointer; yes, the course was chosen for its flatness (any yes; to the other facts). However, while other people might be able to do the same under similar conditions, HE was the one that did it! Hats off to him.

I wonder what time he'd get if he was being chased by an army of invading Persians?

I get those all the time especially a local slip road where they have just left the M25. Which begs the question, what speed were they doing on the M25.

Another thing that annoyed me was on Saturday returning from Brands Hatch on the M25, light rain causing a bit of spray, I can understand people wanting to drive slower due the wet roads and poor visibility, but is it really necessary to do it in the right hand lane whilst there is plenty of room in the other 3 lanes?

For his famous run, Pheidipedes wasn't being chased - he was delivering the news of Athens's victory to Athens. He'd done a few marathon race distances in the days running up to the battle - no wonder the poor sod dropped dead after delivering the good news!
