A Stonechat

I think you went over the top with sharpness. When looking up close it looks really artificial.
I think I can also see very clearly a sharp line between where you have apply smoothing to the background, and where you have apply sharpening to the wood.

A good shot but need more suttle processing.

Thomas I have done No soothing to the bg the lines maybe because they are reeds in the bg and the 600 lens as a great Bokeh that I am liking myself ? You maybe right I might of done a bit to much sharpening not sure but I welcome your comments as I am here to learn ?

Sorry if my comment was unfounded. I find there is something weird when looking "zoomed in" when clicking on the picture in flickr. Maybe it is some jpg compression artifact. I just thought you can see the wood/background limit very clearly like if it had been cut with a selection tool especially on the left of the post. Also there's a very thin white halo around legs and bec.

It's a great shot, I find it looks a bit artificial when looking (too) closely.

Hmmmm he is actually right kev , I normally wouldn’t have noticed or bothered as your a good photographer that I have respected for many years . But the thin white line is there . I can only think it’s a touch over sharpened .. and I really hate writing this but now it’s been pointed out it won’t go away ,sorry m8

Tack sharp with a lovely BG- cracking shot Kevin

Les :)

Looks fantastic to me :)

"Excellent" shot, good pose & colour and so very sharp.

George.

Really nice shot, Kevin. Just about all mine, taken on holiday in Cornwall, have been with them on the likes of moving briars due to sea breezes so never made it here.
