Am considering the above for my next phone, it gets good reviews for the price and is currently shipping with Android 10. I'm on a SIM only deal which, presently, suits me fine. The one thing I'm a little concerned about is the spat between Huawei and Google concerning security. Should this be a cause for concern?

I don’t think so. The issue is with future phones which will ship with android but without the google apps.
 
They seem to be great phones but people are struggling to give them away at the moment. Their value simply plunged since google took their toys back.

If you can get one cheap enough it may be worth it.
 
I have one, and for me it`s a great phone. No issues at all with any of the updates. Battery life smashes any samsung phone i`ve had, and it charges up super fast.

Whilst the issue is with future updates (generations of phones) I was under the impressions current phones would only get updated software for a limited period from google. Once they are no longer receiving this, your phone won't get the latest security patches etc so could be more vulnerable.

Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong, this is just what I have understood from reading.
