So what have you got planned for this year? I’ve already got booked holidays in Alicante, Nice and Florence. Looking to go further afield too.

Can’t wait to get some sun!

I am staying closer to home and have trip planned to The Peak District, Dorset, Cornwall and Snowdonia so far.
Looking forward to some stunning scenery and fantastic hikes.

Crete again in June and August/September. As a bonus, we're heading up to Edinburgh for a weekend in July.

Wester Ross for walking, and landscape/seascape/wildlife photography. Algarve for astro photography. Hoping for a few shorter trips to places not too far from home but too far for a there and back in the day, but nothing's finalised yet - something I've been trying to do since I left work but for various reasons haven't been able to.

Crete for 7 weeks july and august

NW Scotland - Gairloch/Torridon/Ullapool areas. I'd also like to nip over to the Outer Hebrides for a few days.

Dave

Nothing booked yet as we're waiting to see if my daughter will be staying in Montreal.
Likely trips this year will hopefully be:
Harris & Lewis for a few days around May time
Montreal for 2 weeks end June
Kos for a week early October.

Glasgow then Nuremberg and Munich followed by Hoorn/Enkhuizen (Netherlands) then off again to Stuttgart
Hoping to get a long Paris weekend in too and maybe a few days in Liege or Charleroi

Bit of a setback this pre Christmas with our Strasbourg trip getting cancelled because of the French rail strikes
Spent a few days in Leeds between Christmas and New Year with visits to Ilkley and Hebden Bridge
Pleasant enough, but not really that much of a consolation, at least it didn't rain
Might try again this year or perhaps back to our old favourite Innsbruck and the surrounding areas

Today is the one day of the year I’d love to be in Innsbruck.

P**s up and football in Cologne last weekend in Feb with some mates, then hopefully, Australia with family in August!

Waling in Umbria, with various food and wine tasting activities in the spring. Looking at a tour of Sicily in the autumn at the moment, and possibly a trip to stay at a friend's B&B near Malaga in March.

Given I was diagnosed with MS last year I am seriously questioning paying into a pension any more and spending it on holidays instead.

Three weeks in Thailand in August and will probably find an Airbnb in France earlier in the year and take a road trip over there. Trying to fit in a sailing trip to holland early summer too.

Dubai & Maldives in 6 weeks. Paris in May for a couple of days and Summer hols booked for Santorini.
Looking forward to them all!

Looking at Lesvos for the Greek Easter celebrations in April - hoping to embed a little in the culture. Summer not sorted yet, but might end up going out to NZ in the autumn where our son is working this year.

Japan again then hopping over to South Korea.

i was going to go Singapore + South Korea but some reason Singapore was so much more expensive accommodation wise compared to Japan in the same period by like 4x. Since I love Japan I am more than happy to revisit again and again.

Skiing in Slovenia in Feb, Skye in May, Vancouver / Western Canada in August, Romania in October.

China in the summer for a few weeks and Pisa/Florence in Easter.

Prague in 2 weeks, for a long weekend.
Later on we have the former Yugoslavian states to finish off ...
We're trying to visit every European country for at least a long weekend.
Long term, plan on moving to France for 6 months, and then Spain and Italy for long stays.
Our whole (retired) life should be a holiday :)

Probably have a couple of days at the mach loop. Then later on cotswolds.
Then if we do get married this year. end up in the Maldives for our honeymoon hopefully

We have a small place in Spain that we use for holidays, we also have a son who has quite severe learning difficulties.

Last time we were out there we got robbed while in the car and it really unsettled him, so much so that next time we tried going out there he had a melt down while boarding the plane and we had to get off again which caused total chaos ... which in turn made the situation even worse. That was nearly 3 years ago and we haven't tried since as once something like this happens he never forgets so that flying out for the next umpteen years.

Really miss the place actually but just don't fancy a 18 hour drive with no stop over (he won't go in an unfamiliar building so an overnight stop is impossible).

We have just bought a bungalow to do up as our new home, he won't go in it ..... not sure quite what's going to happen when we attempt to move.

Nowhere again. I don’t get to have holidays really. Haven’t been anywhere in about 6 years. This last 2 weeks are all I’ve had off all year and I’ve been ill throughout it all.

We are looking at buying a cheapish camper van though so we can get away on weekends to Wales and the lakes though.

Skiing in Slovenia in Feb, Skye in May, Vancouver / Western Canada in August, Romania in October.

Slovenia is lovely. We're crap snowboarders so Kranjska Gora is perfect for us haha.

Very sorry to hear that Mike. I hope there is some help available for him to overcome what sounds like trauma from that experience.

Nothing planned for this year, mind you staying at home is pretty good and there are some foreign photo assignments already booked.

I’m flying out today to Alicante. Or am I? There was a fire in the terminal yesterday and it’s not due to reopen until 12:00 CET.

short trip to Iceland booked - want to find a short trip for october but not sure where yet. local airport has just started flying to Norway but maybe somewhere that's warmer in Autumn.... (but want to fly from local airport ideally)

wish i was going back to New Zealand.

Sorry to hear that, perhaps a motorhome/caravan with awning etc might be a way to motor over there?

Australia off till next year due to cost now so thinking of a cheap euro camp in Croatia in May or a week hitting a couple of cities. I favour one of krakow or Berlin, wife will probably want something Italian.

After the drama of the fire at Alicante airport, it has now been closed due to extreme weather conditions.
I’m on the way to Murcia to catch a flight instead.
Nevertheless, I’ve had a great time.

Is that the new airport?

I used to like the old one because you could sit on the beach and the planes used to come in right over your head. Training ground for the Patrulla Aguila display team as well.
