A couple from a rather nice morning in Yosemite in January.

If you're interested, the story behind the shots and a look back at what else I've been up to in January is on my blog... https://www.justinminns.co.uk/blog/january-2020-update

One and three all the way

Interesting you've left out the one shot from the blog I would have definitely shared here. :)

Ah the mono from the flatlands of Essex? I thought you'd like that :D

I just picked some at random... there's even more which got left out of the blog! If it's one from San Francisco then I'll probably do another post for those ;)

I thought that one was great but three keeps me coming back to look at the carpet of detail in the trees and those rocky outcrops reaching the colour of the sky.

Awesome stuff.

A lovely set throughout.
For me No2 holds my attention, with the detail, defining levels and structure.

No 1 for me. It is the shot. I like 3 a lot but then I start thinking it could have been same comp as 1, unless it of course was a different day.

I'd like to see some frost and snow here for a change from these horrible rains and grey colour palette.

Lovely set Justin I really would love to go back and spend some time in the landscape

Thanks, yes I was drawn to all the details... all the time I was shooting the wider views I kept noticing things and switching to a longer lens!

The first shot was taken about an hour and a half after the third shot, just as the sun made it up high enough to start lighting El Capitan. The view is very similar, taken in the same direction but in the first one I'm down in the valley that you can see in the third one if that makes sense?

Yosemite has always been on my travel list but I never got around to travel. Having said that, I’m next to the Peak District and have not explored it much.

love these photos. Half of the challenge is getting to Yosemite in winter as they often close access/egress roads. The road out to Glacier Point is usulayy closed which is a shame as the sunset over half dome from above its a great view.

Yep, that's the downside of winter there... not being able to get up to Glacier Point

Glorious, I'd go for 1 and 4 as the best. 3 is superb as well but I would like to have seen a bit more of the trees if that was possible. 4 has a very romantic quality about it, I like it a lot

A very nice set throughout but that last one is wonderful. (y)
