Bloody idjit

Just one of the references from the report I linked to above. Covid 19 is no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious diseases (HCID) in the UK.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/high-consequence-infectious-diseases-hcid#status-of-covid-19

Don't get me wrong - I'll do everything I can to not catch it (or to pass it on if I did have it) but just to counteract the hysteria apparent here and everywhere come to that.

I note that in the daily statistics they now refer to people dying "with the virus" rather than "of the virus".

I cant say I've seen any hysteria, rather people that prefer to go the extra to help eradicate this virus sooner rather than later so that the least number of people they either know or don't know are affected. There are some that will curtail their actions and there are those that only think of themselves, but if someone wishes to be overly cautious it can only be viewed as a good thing in this instance.

Personally I don't care how you do anything. I was commenting on the over reaction in the video, I didn't need to google anything because how far it is was irrelevant IMO [use google to get an understanding of what 'IMO' means] - What does it matter to me, or you for that matter, the distance? - I swear you just post to troll people ....
Followed your advice and googled
International Maritime Organisation, don`t see how that is relevant really, guy drove there. No boats involved.
Thanks though

You were overly selective there, or it depends on location because first thing pops up on a search of it here is Irish Medical Organisation :p

In a nutshell the sooner we can eradicate the infection rates of this the sooner we can ALL get back to normal. The way to eradicate the transfer of it is, to keep Isolated. How is that hard to understand. Wise up people, a little short term inconvenience now will get this over sooner, just follow the b....y rules

Totally agree. Unfortunately there is a handful of folks who ruin it for the majority by trying to push/bend the rules/requests set out by the govt. I've been out for 3 or 4 sessions of exercise starting and finishing at my front door and maintained all the social distancing measures. I haven't however been down to B&Q for some paint or soft furnishing under the guise of "essential provisions"...!

I cant exercise close to home, for a walk i need a walking aid that gives me support, the footpaths around me vary between 4-5 ft, this makes me rely on others to step on the road to maintain the safe distance as i cant do it quickly, 3 miles away is Cleethorpes with its very wide and empty promenade, here i could safely exercise and maintain the 2 mt exclusion zone, guess what ime not allowed to drive there from my understanding.
One of my problems is a joint seizure in my right hip after eight days of no exercise it's getting worse.

The police are revising what they are doing, they appear to be eforcing the rules differently in different areas, and the rules are not the law. The law does not stop you driving or going out for exercise more than once a day. I would hope that if you drove to the prom for exercise any police who queried it would treat your situation with due consideration.

This has nothing to do with the law (at the moment), and everything to do with common sense and showing respect for our neighbours.

If the paths are too narrow, then walk down the middle of the 'deserted' road.........unless of course, it is full of people driving their cars to the seaside!

Im 3 miles from a halfords but cant justify the travel to go and buy stuff i want, I could easily claim I was passing to go to the tesco next door but when there are 2 options 1/2 mile form home its not reasonable in my opinion.

It doesnt say that you can drive for your exercise either and given that the 3 forms listed all can start and finish from the front door without need of travel there is no reason to commute to a place to exercise, doing anything else is bending the rules. The "rules" have been left open to interpretation and really should have been locked tight in the last week so that it is clear to everyone what is and isnt acceptable.

I sympathise with MikeW but people out walking are taking extreme steps to avoid contact - its food shopping where social distancing goes out the window. If walking past some one closer than 2 meters was that high risk we wouldnt be allowed to go shopping for food in the way that we currently can. I think anyone that was to approach Mikew while he was out would happily step around him if he was polite and asked in advance of direct contact.

A lot of people would but a sizeable proportion of selfish people wouldn't. :(

Driving to do exercise is all very well, but the Derbyshire police were saying some people were driving over 30 miles to their chosen "exercise" location.

I've not been shopping for over two weeks, but when I do go it will be to the supermarket where I have a loyalty card, which necessitates a car journey, besides which, if I do a "big shop" which removes the need for me to out again for a couple of weeks, how am I going to carry everything if I don't go by car?
I've tried home delivery, but the sites which are accepting orders are unable to offer me a delivery date within the next three weeks.

Wasnt saying dont go by car, what i meant was I cant see it being reasonable to drive 3 miles to 1 supermarket when there is a suitable one 0.5 mile down the road.

Although if your "loyalty card supermarket" is twice as far as one you dont have a card for is that reasonable to travel the extra distance in the current circumstances?

I'm not going to Morrisons, even if it is a mile closer than Sainsbury's!

They'll never take me alive!!! Can't get some of what we need at Morrisons anyway - free charge for the Leaf!

Other than the chopped toms (of which we have plenty), there's nothing in either box we use. Never been happy with the F&V from Morrisons when we've shopped there (used to be the only supermarket in Mrs Nod's Mum's town) and we only use wholegrain/meal pasta and bread. Seems a bit steep for what's in the box too.

It does say it will feed 2 adults for a week, and they will substitute items to reach the value. I've ordered one more out of curiosity.

Let us know how good the value is.

I followed the link you posted and got the following message:
"You are placed in a queue, we apologise for the wait. We are working hard to increase availability and facilitate demand so we can serve as many customers as possible. Estimated queue duration: 37 minutes."
The other home delivery sites I have visited cannot offer a delivery date within the next 3 weeks...

At least if you visit in person you can see exactly what you are getting.
I'd never touch what they call "bread" in their food box.

Following the latest guidance to the police I hope that you feel more comfortable about driving the 3 miles so that you can exercise. All the best.
