Sony World Photography Award (Zeiss Award)

What do you think? IMO the story that goes with images is what seems to be equally important (or more?) as the images themselves. The runner up, "Between 2 Shores"
is a good example.

None of those Julie Chen pictures do anything for me at all, the one on the bus.. maybe... but other than that they don't evoke anything for me. I suppose she'd feel the same if she saw my pictures.

Obviously - More power to her and I'm happy for her and those who enjoy or feel inspired by her photography.

I've just looked at some more galleries and they're just not grabbing me at all. The judges are seeing something I'm not, no surprise there

I agree. I can't understand why we need to see a pic of what looks like her arse?

I'm surprised I'm not the only one but happy I'm not a lone party pooper on this

I do try to appreciate other peoples pictures and often I can see what's there to admire even if they're not for me and I have no interest in going down that path but with some of those Sony Award pictures I just don't see it. Maybe they need some explaining and enthusing over by someone like Martin Parr.

Looking at the ones I did look at I can only assume that judges who selected these pictures all have similar tastes. Either that or they all nodded off and one judge picked the lot.
