Yes
I'm wanting to use a simple image importer/mover/viewer app on my Mac.

Like the idea of Adobe Bridge which is free, but with strings attached. Namely that I can't use it without Creative Cloud bloatware and internet access.

I don't want to use Adobe Cloud services and am unhappy about Adobe having continuous access to my computer, also it needing internet access all the time.

My question(s), should I be at all concerned about Adobe intrusiveness, possibly even destabilising my system, which I don't want.

Also any alternatives to Bridge as an import/move/view utility for Mac? Not sure about Mac Photos, even though I do use it with in conjuction with my wife's iPad, don't like the black hole that is a Photos library - again am I being needlessly concerned. I'm storing my date ordered photo JPEG/RAW files on an external drive, should I just use Photos and let Apple get on with it. I have approx 30K photos taken over many years.

Thanks
Henry

Is there a reason why you don't simply move the images from your source into a destination folder you created in order to maintain your filing system? I can't see what automation can bring to the process?

I would also agree that it's best to avoid the photos library black hole - if you want to move away from OSX in the future then maintaining your own catalogue structure will make this much less painfull.

You may be over concerned about Adobe products on your Mac. I've run both Lightroom and Photoshop, on my Mac for over 11yeard without any problems. Plus software such as inDesign on other macs for about half that time and have had no problems either. If you don't want to go down the Adobe monthly subscription route, there are other aps out there, such as Pixelmator or Affinity which may suit your requirements.
