Heineken hoverfly- Rhingia campestris

Wonderful super Stack, how many shots did you use Keith? I take it it is a stacked image?

Are you sure it was R. campestris? With the snout and antennae that orange, unless it is because of your post-processing (maybe you upped the saturation?), I would suspect this was R. rostrata. In many parts of the country, the two are now equally abundant. Whichever it was, it is a stunning shot!

BTW, when we do the Heineken Fly joke on hoverfly training courses these days, it tends to fall a bit flat. That ad is no longer running and many people don't uderstand it anymore. The world moves on!
