Took advantage of the revised gov guidelines and drove the 25 minutes to one of the LEO nest sites, they didn't disappoint!

OMG nikon do 5 figure ISO who knew:exit::oops: :$? We'll never be the same Phil ,but honestly I think we we always make each other laugh and be able to be utterly honest with each other about our images. I love that

. In all honesty mate I think nik have outdone canon, with their little 500 with fresnil tech is it PFE?? Similar to my DO. and their sensors. Don't get me wrong I love my gear and feel blessed to be fortunate to use,but of late I do wonder where canon's collective head is at!!

Ok give me the juice what's the SS , it looks great to me Phil with the usual caviat of what I can see. after sunset birds in flight ,can't be bad can it ;)

Great shot, Phil.

I do see humour in unexpected situations so if you'll forgive me .....the expression on the owl's face looks as though it's thinking.."Oh..lockdown has been lifted then..pity, it's been lovely and quiet round here without you people with your pointy things..:)

ISO 2000.That's amazing even assuming you've put it through NR. I've noticed that Nikon posters do well re noise.

Great shot, its nice that we can travel a bit further afield now and start enjoying the countryside a little more.

Tim.

John you have hilighted a flippant comment more of a reply to a remark made by me mate else where He couldn't believe me canon files looked ok:LOL:. Basically a bit of canon nikon user banter between two mates To my shame I was leg pulling.:D I think you might have missed the humour there me olde mate:)

I know nothing really of nik bar one little camera and lens the above 500fresnil paired to phils 500 That little combo is producing some stunning imagery. I can't give you a link sadly I think it's against forum rules But it might be worth a search there is of that 500combo as I think it might be of interest to you, looks like a little gem of a birder combo.

But yes just harmless banter;) I've nowt against any camera marque I do like having fun though;)

take care

stu

Cheers Stu, 1/1250th, f8, really I should have dropped ss to 1/1000th and aperture to f6.3, it would have halved the ISO but, we know what its like in the heat of the moment, besides Nikon can take it

Thanks John, I like to think he'd just recognised, moved into a clearing and posed nicely so I could get a few shots ;)

And that's a great link you've posted John, it just reinforces what we already knew @Stuart Philpott

copy and paste from link

'Overall, it is pretty clear that the Nikon D500 is superior to Canon 7D Mark II in almost every way, which is impressive!' ..........

Which is a bit sad for me, Phil as I have the 7D11..lol. Never mind. I've long thought that Nikon had the edge re Noise and according to my link to Stu larger pixels (1.5X v 1.6.)better quality too. I'm doomed..Lol. When it came out you'd have thought it was the best thing since sliced bread..as they say. I was replacing the 7D. I can't change now as all my lenses are Canon..bar the Sigma 150-600.
