The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

So, Capture 1 users, where is this "HDR" tab, 'cause I can't find it...

Edit: I just realised what was meant by "Tab"... You mean the bit under "Exposure"... I was looking for a complete new set of tools...

One more from looking through my photos... Taken in Madrid, summer 2019 with the X-T1 and 23mm f1.4 (somehow the exif data got scrambled on this one)

Pennies, the RAW files can't be read ;)
Why has no one said "adobe dng convertor" yet? You can at least then use them in LR/PS even if you can't use the Fuji film simulations.
Alternatively, the Iridient X-Transformer 1.6.6 plugin supports the X-T4

Looks like the free version of Capture One supports it. Link.

Tried the dng converter. No joy
I’ve got Iridient. Converts to Tiff. Lightroom doesn’t offer the Film Sims to me though.

Yes it does. But my Mac doesn’t like Capture One. Or rather Sierra doesn’t.

Oh, fair enough, I suppose it is too old to be supported by there latest OS then?

According to the camera raw page, you need the dng convertor version 12.2 (12.2.1 is the latest).
You won't get the adobe fuji film sims unless it's the native file though. I guess the free Capture One software is the obvious solution.

Bear in mind that both the C1 and adobe profiles are their respective representations of the film profiles, not the actual ones that you get in camera (hence why the fuji software connects to the camera to do the processing).

I've got a 12" Macbook from 2016 (the small ones with no fan...) at the moment. Lightroom is slow and no fun. CaptureOne Fujifilm Express (the free version) is about 100x faster (well that's what it feels like) for all the editing. Exporting still takes a while, but what really got me with lightroom is that the sliders got slower and slower and slower with each update... Plus I don't feel that bad about having turned my back on Adobe to be honest (now even got the c1 full version in the recent sale).
I have the full Capture One version but I have noticed the same thing. Lightroom is a lot slower when editing files.

Oooo, I had the X100T briefly and loved it. Ever since I've longed for another. Now I've got the X100V on the way which should be hear hopefully Monday. You'll enjoy the X100 series!

Awesomeness, would you mind letting me know your thoughts when it comes please?

Of course will give you an update later in the week

Had a quick wander round our local cemetery this morning while the Wife ran a few errands with my X-Pro1 & 23mm f2 in hand.

What an amazing place, never been to it before but it’s really very photogenic, so definitely going to go back at some point.

A nothing shot, put it here for anyone interested in the 16-80
I thought the out of focus areas looked pretty good. Notice the bokeh balls.
Yep a bit onion ringy but not cats-eye.

Mind you, you shouldn't trust my eye at all..

I think this lens has hard time from some reviewers, yours looks to be great Trevor. The bokeh is fine for me, I'm not a pixel peeper and those rings aren't pronounced so also not a deal breaker for me. The dew is nice on the grass viewed on flickr. When I decide on the xt4 or another x100v, the xt4 will have the 16-80, it's be great for my use.

Thanks. Glad you find it helpful.

Afternoon all,

I was wondering if anyone cycles with their Fujifilm? Most of the beautiful places I visit are by bicycle but unfortunately I've heard horror stories of breaking whilst riding with my current camera (Sony A7Riii), so I'm pondering changing to an XT3 and a light prime.

Whilst the loss of resolution would be a shame I'm thinking of the old saying of best camera is the one you have with you. I'd rather have lots of pictures from happy trips than a few when I go out on foot.

I used to bikepack with an xt10 and a 35mm or 27mm attached. It was just in a small padded pouch in my kit and never took any damage from being jiggled around all day. I had it in my bar bag, pannier rack and backpack.

Thanks Bumper. There are so many times I've wished I'd had more than my phone on me and we're hoping to do some touring later this year.

I tried to manage with a phone but still felt the need to take a camera. It took no space up and weight was nothing, especially when my water and food had been used up. Plus I weighed a ton anyway :p

Once I get a bit fitter I will be taking one on my X cameras with me each time I go for a ride.

I’ve tried to get on to the Viltrox site to download the firmware update for the Viltrox 85mm Fuji fit lens but it won’t open on iPhone, iPad, MacBook or surface pro 6. Does anyone have the latest firmware file that they can send me please.

Ok I know it’s not a Fuji but the shot’s taken with my X-H1 so bare with me. I found this at the back of a cupboard today whilst trying to find some batteries for a kids toy and thought it was worth sharing. This is the camera that started it all for me, my first proper camera that I inherited over 30 years ago when my grandad passed away. This is the camera that encouraged me to join the school photographic society which in turn led to my parents spare room becoming a dark room and lit the spark that’s stopped with me ever since. Nice, I love the style of old camera gear and MF lenses, been looking into getting a few to play with as I am bored of modern AF lenses these days if I'm honest. Every modern lens I buy I enjoy for a bit then end up selling on, and often feel they're way over priced. With these old classics you never lose, if you do the research to get the gems and hunt them down cheap, you'll never lose selling them on, you'll always at least get your money back. With modern bodies like the H1 they work really well, you get all the focus assist you'd need and IBIS breathes new life into old primes too.

Found my old Rolliflex and an OM10 in a bag in the attic of the barn while looking for something else the other day.

It’s a good feeling isn’t it, I don’t know about you but for me personally it’s triggered a lot of memories finding it. I have to say I’m very jealous about the Rolleiflex, I remember aspiring to one of those but it never happened :)

My grandad was very into photography, had his own darkroom and a Durst enlarger, did colour very early on. The Rollei was a present from him....I think he couldn't pass a bargain by, and he already had at least a couple, so as I was the only one of his grandkids to show any interest I got it. I was a fine art student, and did some photography and photo etching. I had a Zenit E up to then. This was the seventies.
My dad has all his cameras, if I ever get into film I'll be set up :D
I think the OM10 was the missus's.

It may not be a Fuji, but the ME Super was very similar... All tactile and fun to use, had one for ages, P/X'ed for a Nikon F2, which was replaced by an EOS620 (which I still have!).

From memory it's 2012 MBP quad core 2,3 i7 with 16GB Ram
SSD Hard Disk. Running Sierra which is the latest it will handle.
Adobe Camera Raw and Capture one require later version in order to open the X-T4 files.
get the free capture one express Trev, edit. Oh really?
