First post so please be gentle and sorry if this is in the wrong place. Can anyone help and suggest what the spots are on these photos. They were taken with a Canon 1100 and appear never mind which lens I use. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance, Andy

Hello and welcome. You have either dust or liquid spots on your sensor. It normally happens when people are not careful changing lenses, though it can also happen to a lesser extent by the push/pull action of a zoom lens sucking are in.

Your options are cleaning it yourself, or getting someone else to clean the sensor. If doing it yourself, first step is to get something like a Rocket Air Blower, following instructional videos online. ;) If that doesn't work the next step is a 'wet clean', again following some online guides as to what to buy and how to clean the sensor.

I should add that if you get someone else to clean the sensor, make sure they are liable for any damage caused during cleaning, which though a small possibility, is still a possibility.

When changing lenses try to keep the camera facing downwards to stop dust blowing in . and if you clean DO NOT apply pressure as you do it, its a simple contact and sweep across the sensor.

DON'T USE A COTTON BUD, you will be in deep deep trouble.
Get yourself a sensor cleaning kit something like this. I have had this for many years and saved me a fortune in sending away for some moron to not do the job properly
