Is there any way I could get rid of condensation inside a monitor screen. If I keep the pc on for a while if eventually disappears but then returns the next day when I switch it on again. The monitor is about 6 years old but works fine otherwise.

That's weird, Where's the condensation coming from, find the source and try remove it.

The condensation won't be coming from the monitor, it will be from an external source; i.e. the room is too damp.

I would suggest you locate your PC somewhere else before you blow it up from a short-circuit. Water and electricity don't mix too well.

I agree.
Get a de humidifier for the room.
I can only imagine there is damp and fungal spores growing there too

I suspect it may have happened when wet washing that was outside was brought into that room and left for a while. I will make sure that doesn’t happen again but it is the only thing I can think off as it is always one of the warmer rooms in the house being the smallest and south facing[emoji848]

That'll do it for sure. A nice easy fix then. :) (y)

Pretty sure that was the source of the problem but it is just how to a find a way to remove the condensation from the inside of the screen? It is not a big area, probably about a 3 inch diameter on a large monitor[emoji848]
Would putting a dehumidifier near the monitor be advisable?

That would work - albeit slowly. I'd just leave it with a bit of sunshine through a window on it for a few hours - preferably through a curtain and not direct sunlight.

If you mean the residual watermarks that have dried onto the screen, I think that’s going to be very tough. Maybe search on YouTube for some teardown videos for your monitor make and see what you think.

Rooms have windows for a reason. Open the window in that room for a few hours. No need for a dehumidifier at this time of year.

Unless of course it's thundery and high humidity outside, in which case, you've just let it inside!

Already tried that thanks.
So far the only thing that clears it is leaving the pc on.
When I say condensation, I mean the faintest smudge on the inside of the screen. There is no sign of any water droplets.

If it's re-occurring regularly then I think the cause needs to be investigated rather than the symptom.

hence the need to open windows on a regular basis.

SOLVED! Feeling rather silly now  :$. When I was moving the monitor to try one of the suggested fixes, I noticed that part of the casing was loose. After clipping it strongly back together, the condensation disappeared shortly afterwards. No idea how it came loose but I am blaming the wife :LOL::LOL:
