Looking at getting a studio kit. Is this 3 head kit with softboxes a good starter outfit that I won't outgrow in say 6 months or should I consider something else.

Initially will be looking to do head and shoulders portraits together with pictures of the dog ( if she'd sit still for more than 10s) possibly

I've had a go with off camera flash but I'm finding it hard to learn and get any consistency without modelling lightd

I bought the Smartflash 2 kit (with 2 heads) and I've not outgrown it yet.

You'll have double the power and an extra head.

Go for it, you'll love it

I may be biased because I used to be heavily involved with Lencarta, but it seems to me to be perfect for your needs.

But if you move to taking action shots in the future, where very short flash durations are needed, you'd be better with the more expensive IGBT flashes.

Agreed- I started out with a Lencarta smart flash 3 kit with 2 heads and 2 large soft-boxes- I now have 3 heads and a couple of beauty dishes- as add on's
welcome to the expensive world of Portraiture
