Nikon Z* mirrorless

I asked Panamoz if they would swap my defective Z6 unit for a new one as there was no time stamp on it being repaired, old one sent yesterday and new one now en route, estimate 21st I'll have it.
Strange how using my D750 in the waiting gap is so different and now I realise how easy it is to use the Z6 compared to the D750, or is it just me [emoji848]

Since getting the z6 I also found clients preferred the photos produced by the z6 compared to the D750. They are certainly more consistently sharper.

I wasn't remarking on sharpness ect, just ease of use, for me, I can find the buttons easier and that evf is a big wow for me.

I’m surprised non photographers can tell the difference  :$

I find holding down the front function buttons whilst turning the selectors with the same hand a bit difficult when cycling through AF settings, but other than that, the access of features much easier with the info button configuration. The EVF and shutter mech are just light years ahead.

What I meant that it’s easier to achieve sharp results than the D750. For example, take 5 photos of the same subject without moving and on the D750 one would be noticeably sharper than the rest. With the z6 they are mostly all consistently sharp. Saying that - I’m very particular about critical focus

I shot similar photos with both cameras and presented them for selection in a gallery and I found clients went more for the z’s photos

Looking some advice for a friend whose thinking of moving to a Z7 from a D810. He shoots landscapes and has the Lee big stopper with the holder and 77mm adapter ring. He's looking to get the 14-30mm f4 S and was wondering if he gets the 82mm adapter ring will his big stopper work fine with the 14-30mm? He's had conflicting information from 2 other photographers.

I was wondering if it would cause vignetting at 14mm.

Had my Z6 a good 18 months now and love it, apologies for not being on here much. Recently picked up a 200-500mm and it has not left the camera!

Here is a shot handheld a 1/60 sec.

I have the 150-600 sigma with me this week will give it a go to see how it is hope it can get close to your 200-500

Wonderful picture Daryl. And I’m not a cat person.

Amazing bit of glass isn't it and the whole thing becomes awesome - last lens I'd give up!

Anyone shooting the Z5 ?

I am waiting to see what sort of price the Z5 arrives for at Panamoz personally. Wanting to finally make the move to Z for the size and weight gains (or losses). Not bothered about the top screen one bit, and being able to use my existing card supply vs buying expensive new cards and a reader doesn't appeal. The sensor has to be at least as good as the D750, which as a D750 owner, is fine by me. The D750 has never left me wanting more. The only downside of the Z5 then is the UK price!

Has anyone on here had the chance to use the Z 24-200mm, I know stock is hard to come by, just wondered if anyone was lucky enough to get one and what their thoughts are.

Yayy, My Z6 replacement arrived today....So happy I got something small in my hands again....:p

I’m sure there’s a joke there somewhere ;)

Anybody using the sigma 135mm f/1.8 ART on their z6 / z7?

yes I have the sigma 135mm art on the z6 it is very front heavy tried comparing to the 850 and 135 art still don't know which I prefer but works good on both
Do you have any full body photos of people using the 135mm? Just interested to see the separation possible with the lens compared with the 85mm

If anyone’s interested, I’ve got 2 XQD cards plus reader in the classifieds ...
after more than 8 years of us each trying, generally successfully, to persuade the other that our system was the best at the time, it's a shame to see a parting of the ways as I don't see myself going down the Sony route though one never knows (and I'll drop into that forum from time to time to see what you're up to). I don't think I need a second XQD card at the moment though

I am on holiday until Saturday will have a look when I get home or will take some test pics with the z6 135 and the 85s and post them for you

Thanks Ian. I have the 85s which I love. Before then I was using my 300mm f/4 IF-ED for full body photos and loved the blur I was able to achieve - the background blur on the 85mm is awesome, but not so much when taking full body shots :). I also hardly use my 70-200mm f4 anymore, so I was considering a 135mm instead. Less practical for candid, but I just love bokeh
