The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I've been there when I got an XT2. With the 23mm 1.4 I was wondering when I'd use my X100T. And the other thing I was finding was that I was getting clumsy with the contols on each because they were similar enough to be familiar but not quite the same.

I ended up selling my X100T but I missed it after a a while. There are things that the X100 range do so well that is hard to match with a changeable lens camera. It's mainly the size I suppose which lends itself so much better to trips out where you want a camera with you but don't want it to dominate proceedings. I have an X-T4 now and a 23mm lens but have serious GAS for an X100V. Haven't had an X100 in my life for months now and I'm missing it badly!

I was the same when I had my T. Loved it and sold it because of another body but always lasted after the F. The V came out and I had to buy it. I dont really take my camera out places but I'm 50/50 on it just now. I think I'd lost after it if I sold it. I would have used it for street mainly but thats non-existant at the moment due to the ongoing pandemic.

Question: Is having more than one camera a waste? I'm starting to look at my X100V and my X-T4 and despite my love for it I'm wondering if I should even keep the V? The X-T4 can do everything I'd need and more. I'm essentially keeping the V for the shorter focal lengths with the WCL and TCL adapters and the X-T4 just for a long lens.

If I keep both do I carry both on landscape shoots to cover the focal ranges I need? Hmmmm.
When you own a V, surely it's a must to have another camera, just to take pictures of the V!?
Wish I had one, totally not suited to my style of photography but I'd still love one.

We hired this brilliant Camper Van (Fiat Ducato) out last week for a week for my 60th birthday, a surprise from my wife. We drove 800 miles in/around the beautiful West Coast of Scotland, off grid stuff, utterly fabulous times in this Van which was called; Hamish.
I'd say within the next few years we'll try have a Camper Van as we aim for retirement etc......such a laid back way to travel/off grid material - fabulous!!

Question: Is having more than one camera a waste?

Yes. End of discussion.

A fellow 'tin tent' aficianado!

Fantastic way of visiting some wonderful places. Our is 'Herman the German' and he has taken us all over Europe wildcamping where possible. Never had a problem with security as our two Rotties come with us.

This was taken on the top of the Lac De Sainte-Croix having just driven all the way around the Gorges Du Verdon which was interesting in a 'stop to change underwear' way with its single track road and a 700 metre drop on the right.P1020641.jpeg

Anyone recommend the cheaper 12mm manual lenses, i don't have funds for the samyang, but the meike and 7artisan is more affordable.

That looks like a proper bit of kit. I must admit my T6 is a bit compromised when it comes to a campervan - can’t stand up, no toilet, no shower. These 3 ‘essentials’ are the minimum I would insist on(y)

It lovely Alan but this 'German is best' is a bit of a myth.

Herman goes into 'limp' mode as you near a Trappist Brewery or a vineyard and only just makes it to the site. He then takes almost 24 hours to self- calibrate his electronics before you can leave and the only thing you can do in the meantime is to get the chairs out, connect the Weber to the gas tank, smack on a steak and sample the products so lovingly made by the Brothers.;)

Apart from that he is wunderschon.

I must be missing something here. The built in flash on the X100F, how do you enable it? I've checked the manual and, as far as I can see, you make your selection as below and press Ok but when I press Ok, nothing happens.

Check "silent mode" if silent mode is enabled no flash option will work.

The baby X series (X-10 etc.) won't flash in Macro mode either.

Where do you set silent mode? Only thing I can find is in USER SETTING and SOUND & FLASH is set to ON.
Sorry, I had silent mode in my head but don't have an X100 at the moment. But the setting you found was what I meant. I see you now have it sorted though so that's good news.

I must admit, I find the manual rather confusing at times.

I had grand ideas for a cloud inversion this weekend, but the forecast ruled that out. I still went out this morning and took all the kit as I wasn't sure if I'd get a sunrise, or end up on the moor chasing the red deer rut. As it happpens thick fog ruled out both options so I headed to the woods instead....

All with the X-H1 and 18-55mm
