Seilebost, Harris

That’s gorgeous. It’s been wet over the last few weeks!

I don't think I've ever been anywhere quite so wet as Harris & Lewis.
Rained every single day, some torrential & for hours on end so the photography opportunities were seldom.
However managed to have an hour or so without 'incident' on Seilebost & was grateful for the light finding a few gaps in the evening sky.

Great result Neil, and hope you've dried out now!

Lovely light and all and interesting composition. Not sold on the movement in the grasses but the rest of it is top drawer. I toyed with the idea of going there but after some soul searching I am just not a coast man.
Surely you don't have to be a sea and coast man to go to Harris and Lewis. There as got to be loads of interest for a man of your talent.

It's expense and time vs reward. I toyed with it but decided to put the money I was going to spend on it towards another trip to the Alps/Pyrenees to make up for the one I lost this year.

I went to a more local coastal spot and just didn't enjoy it. I love looking at seascapes...just not the experience of taking them. I'm more than happy to look at this shot...blurred grasses and all :D

Thats a fair enough answer.

Thats a stunning image Neil, wonderful light and a vista to die for.

Absolutely stunning Neil! The light and colours are to die for. Harris has been on my bucket list for a while and I've never been - images like this just fuel the attraction. Maybe next year if it's possible...

P.S. For me the movement in the grass just adds to the shot - it's all part of the context of the day it was shot and shows the wild conditions

Thank Si,

'Covid' pending, I'm aiming for 10 days split between the Uists / Harris& Lewis at Easter - such a wonderful & mysterious place, just a shame the weather was that bad this time.

Pretty much sums up Harris all in one photograph, perfection!

It is probably always that bad. Unless you get lucky....

Scottish weather really is the pits. Good luck though :D

It really isn't, dress for it, embrace it and enjoy it!

You don`t post that often but when you do, wow, great shot and very nice colours.

If you travelled on the MV Isle of Lewis, it's been taken out of service for a deep clean after two crew members tested positive.

MV Glasgow if I recall correctly, Uig - Tarbert & return.

That's good then. The Isle of Lewis was doing the Ullapool - Stornoway trip whilst the Loch Seaforth was being serviced.

That sounds lovely, keep saying we should head up to Scotland again - it's been a while...

The composition's good and the light's lovely but the colours are what makes it - the blues and the golds are perfect. Very harmonious. Worth the trip if this was your only shot!

"Cracking" shot Neil, nuff said.

George.

Lovely shot Neil - one of the nicest landscape pics I've ever seen on here - not at all a cliche, stunning light and beautiful colours - a pic that makes me want to visit Harris. Thanks for posting it.

Well, I'm glad you stuck it out. That's a shot to be pleased with.

Very good indeed. Fantastic light, great view and well composed
