I can just beat your incompetence. 44 on the field, 24 on the bench [emoji849]

Pulling out all of the stops today as I’m up against the Chosen Ones. Triple captain plus bench boost should do the trick!

I am humbled by your wretchedness :)

annoying thing is I was going to play bench boost and forget. I get worse at this game every year

I do hate it when they make substitutions just before 60 minutes, cost me 2 points. Still, 22 points from 2 players isn't a bad start to the weekend.

It's mine H2H to lose with 18 points from two players already. ;) And we have the same Captain too, though mine will only count double.

Looks like it’s going to close. We both chose the wrong captain; again!

I've lost track of bthe amount of close H2H matches I've lost! Chilwell taken off after only 9 minutes this evening. If he'd stayed on, the extra 5 points would've been enough! :banghead:

Tip for those looking for a cheapish midfielder, i'm swapping out Foden this week as he's not getting game time for some reason, so he's bound to start and score a hat-trick against newcastle, you can thank me later

By the same token, I apologise to all who have Bruno Fernandez as I've just brought him into my team and to Bruno himself for ending his good form!

I just offed him and he scores 2 and I'm sure will keep going strong, unless your luck is even worse than mine :D I also had Chilwell [he's on 50% to play next, might be an idea to sub him out for this week?]

And as has been the case in the past, I won my H2H only to drop in the main league - this was a high average week at 60pts, keeping transfers down is working on that side for me at least

Klopp Klopp Boom had a monster week with 95 points, :$ the highest of the week, :clap:to move into 2nd place, and in the process cutting Amber Army's (69) lead to 43 points.

Biggin Bangers (78) stay in 3rd, and Farcealona (49) swap places with Klopp Klopp Boom to fall to 4th. Penfold's Dangermice (58) remain in 5th.

The average for the week was a quite high 60 points, and as you can see above, some of the top five were below that. ;)

I got just above the average with 61 points, :) but fell from 18th > 21st, :$ :( as those around me scored high.

No games between now and Boxing Day, but there is an early game, so the deadline for making changes is Sat 26th Dec @11:00.

Biggin Banger's four point lead at the top remains, ahead of Amber Army, after winning their H2H with Mrs Smith's Boys in a not very close 78 - 45. Mrs Smith's Boys fall from 5th > 9th in a congested and close midfield as positions 4 > 14 are covered by four points.

Amber Army was up against AVERAGE, and won 69 - 60. :)

Klopp Klopp Boom stay in 3rd, four points behind, after DTFC Snapper were unlucky to come up against the highest scorer of the week, and lose 56 - 95. :$

Next to take on AVERAGE are tarric tots. удачи ;)

There were a couple of close H2H's, I lost a close one against Banished to Riyadh 61 - 62, and Woodys wonders beat Atletico High Street 59 - 58. I remain in 16th, but Woodys wonders got a bit closer from bottom place.

Glad to be wrong. With 3 bonus points tro come (doubled as I made him Captain), he's earned my a tidy 24 points. Shame Mings was sent off though.

I brought him back in, didn't captain him though, hard to take that from Salah but I think either are great choices atm. You're doing very well thus far, I'm just 2pts behind you though I do owe 4 for transfers

Not bad end of the night, 43 with a few players to go inc Cap Salah! but then, all the top end lot have him and Bamford too. I need one of my uniques to start shining, Hi Neto, fancy shining for a bit?

Top three remain the same, Amber Army (47), Klopp Klopp Boom (49) and Biggin Bangers (54), though with less points between them. ;) Penfold's Dangermice (41) swap places with Farcealona (35) to move into 4th.

Top scorer of the week were Ball Oxes with 61.

The average for the week was 41 points.

I again got below the average with 34. :$ I can't seem to catch a break at the moment, up and down each week, but my average stays around 50 points, which is quite bad, as my placing shows. I remain in 21st place, but Woodys wonders are getting closer below. Trying the Bench Boost as I think most, if not all my players, should at least play.

For those who didn't see my previous message, the deadline today is @13:30.

Top six are the same as last week. Biggin Bangers still top, and still four points clear after beating Banished to Riyadh 54 - 40. Amber Army stay in 2nd after beating me 47 - 34. :(

Klopp Klopp Boom a further four points behind after winning their H2H with Mrs Smith's Boys 49 - 35. Still six points behind are Hardly Athletic and Ball Oxes in 4th and 5th, who both won their H2H's.

Closest H2H was Penfold's Dangermice 41 - 40 with horspath hounds. That enabled Penfold's Dangermice to move from 10th > 7th. :)

tarric tots were successful in their H2H with AVERAGE, winning 44 - 41.

Next to take on AVERAGE are Penfold's Dangermice. Waimarie. ;)

As mentioned above, I lost my H2H with Amber Army, and fall to 17th place, and equal points as Woodys wonders below, and JUSTSTAYEDUP above.

First blow to the Bench Boost. What did I say about catching a break! Vardy starting on bench. :$ :banghead: I suppose he is still in the squad, and at least has a chance of playing.

Hadn't checked the fixtures., damn it! Everton and City not playing this week, that's 4 zeros for me to start

They were due to play this evening but it's been postponed due to Covid-19 in the Man City camp. I only have two players affected but I'm pretty sure my substitutes aren't going to gain many points!

This is where keeping up with team news helps, though I'd only been looking at the scout on the FF site yesterday, saw no mention. Do subs auto fill in for non players? doubt it would matter much, nothing special on my bench. Will have to keep an eye for next round, which I believe starts friday

It was only announced a couple of hours ago, after the deadline had passed Apparently City had a few players test positive on Christmas Day and now there are more so it was called off this afternoon.

Yes the subs will replace any Man City or Everton players automatically (y)

Yup, subs are auto added in place, and they are prioritised by the order you have them on the bench - in my case I have 4 players out so should get the 3 outfield players? don't think an extra goalie would count in https://www.premierleague.com/news/1609337 they don't specify but I imagine sub goalie only replaces main keeper

Gets worse for me : Abraham, who I just transfered in, isn't playing or at least hasn't started, nor has one of my subs, Zouma :/

Yes, you're worse affected than me with just two players involved. It's definitely a mess - personally, I think City should have to forfeit the points and Calvert-Lewin be awarded a hat-trick :D

Played bench boost this week, great plan until the postponement robbed me of 4 players. Meanwhile in real life, this opens up a whole host of questions. City have played Newcastle and Arsenal last couple of games, one of whom has had covid postpone one of their games and close the training ground, the other involved a trip into a tier 4 area and a stay at a london hotel which has since had a number of cases confirmed (allegedly).

Add this to the meaningless internationals played a couple of weeks ago, and it's apparent, to me at least, that the continuation of professional sport is an economic decision and does not give due regard to the welfare of club officials and players.

We've had a nationwide xmas lockdown preventing people seeing their families, yet football in the premier league has continued with a minimum of 2 games per week for each club. Their is, to my mid, no justification whatsoever for this continuing, other than economics.

Apologies for the rant, this probably isn't the place, but something needs to change

There are a lot of business's open just for economic reasons that shouldn't be. Imho, the pubs should not have re-opened when they did. If there is a section of the population you can't trust to follow safety guidelines of any sort, it is people who are the worse for alcohol. Even now I know of certain pubs manipulating the rules to stay open when they shouldn't be.

Put into contrast with just that industry, and how many people would be involved with making football work, clubs and media, and football seems very small people wise versus the money involved. Add to that that all involved in football will be some of the most monitored and tested people in this country, and it is probably one of the safer industries continuing. Not something you could say about the hospitality industry.

I agree that there shouldn't have been international games, and I don't think that there should have been European competitions this season either. Again, money talks, and you can't rely on UEFA or FIFA to take anything like player welfare above and beyond the money. The amount of games they are cramming in, and the intent to still play the '2020' European Championships next Summer just exemplifies that.

On a related note I thought they were too quick to pack people onto planes and let them spread whatever around the World too. If you can't guarantee that someone will be able to visit a country without the rules changing at either end while they are there, then they shouldn't let people fly. If they do let people fly, and they tell them to self isolate when they return, then there should have been a method of monitoring, and enforcing their isolation, or again, don't let people travel abroad, because a lot of people can't be trusted to wear a mask on a Bus or Train, never mind trusted to stay at home when they are supposed to.

One benefit football players have is that they generally don't mingle at airports with the public, and use chartered planes a lot of the time if they do travel abroad.

As for the Fantasy Football, I decided to use my Bench Boost to try and stay off the bottom of both leagues, :( and Leicester decided not to use Vardy from the start, so only one point after he came on. Thankfully only Vice Captain, but the way my luck is, I wouldn't be surprised if my Captain Son didn't play the next Spurs game. Calvert-Lewin will have no points because of the postponed game, and Chel$ki decided not play James and Zouma. :$ :banghead: Like I said, I can't catch a break atm.

Yep, 3 Everton players in my team. Good news is that I've got 7 points to come off the bench from Zaha but I've only got 1 other on the bench as Mings is suspended.

I too have James and Zouma, so my bench boosted team will at best return 9 players :/

Regarding flying, agree completely. As a nation we were slow in closing airports, which should have been done as the virus worked it's way west from its entry into europe in Italy, we didn't respond and we're still not responding.

Just read that the Spurs v Fulham match has also been cancelled tonight. I have no idea what this will mean for the next round of fixtures.

@redhed17 this is gonna be close :D I kinda need Salah to do something! basically him vs your 2 x 'Pool defenders - if this ends a clean sheet you'll have me I think

I'm not sure how it works this week, bit confusing. As is now, The chosen ones beat me in the H2H by one point [did say it'll be very close if Salah doesn't do anything ... he didn't  ] But since I had 4 players not in action due to the C-19 hit, I'm not sure if my subs get placed in later? or not at all?? And how does it affect those of you who used the boost? not really fair if subs are auto played in for others who lost main players and you did too, but you had boost on?? maybe your boost will get saved? As is @redhed17 only beats me by one point inc bench boost, but I've not gotten any points for auto subs

Picked the wrong week to use the Bench Boost. Three players lost because of the postponements, and another two didn't get picked by Lampard. :banghead: I would have got the same number of points without the Bench Boost, so that was wasted.:(

I think, atm, I've lost the H2H by one point, but it won't be confirmed till the morning, as it is still updating. :( I think I mayget a couple of extra points as Vardy becomes my Capatain, but sometimes points get added over night for various things, so we'll see. On the plus side, I think I got more than the average, which I didn't do last week, but again that could change until it is all confirmed.

As for how the points fall with all the postponements, and the use of Bench Boosts, Captains, etc, I think it is just luck of the draw. Their argument would be you would get points from postponed games when they are played. I think it is the only stance they could takes with millions of people playing. Unless there are whole weeks starting to be cancelled, like the first Lockdown, games postponed will be treated like games called off for things like bad weather.

I dodged a bullet, I think, by playing Average this game week when I lost nearly half my squad through cancellations, subs by managers, and injuries. I'm now wondering whether more matches will be cancelled this weekend.

Just to add for those who might not have noticed, but the Wild Card button has returned for the transfer window and looks like it can be used before tomorrow's matches. :)

I think the Wild Card option resets for the new year, but thanks for pointing it out. (y):)

It is hard to plan anything atm though, as I'm assuming more games will be postponed going forward, probably still Fulham and Man City games for this coming week, but so far their games are not cancelled, so do you plan as they are going to run, or not!

Yes, I just thought it had been reset early this year before the transfer window opened.

Once again, thank you for your write ups. :)
