Male out hunting this evening, forced down by the Jackdaws.

Right place, right time, just 20 minutes too late, the sun had gone down! :)

Cracking good shot Phil, that perch is key for me. :)

It's a cracker and looks like it 'clocked' you :)

beautiful shot
how are you enjoying the 500pf ?
waiting on Panamoz getting them back in stock

I think bright sunshine would have not been as nice as the eveing soft light Phil, cracking shot fella :)

I like very much!:D

Don't think I've ever seen one, not knowingly at least.

We're very fortunate here in the South Pennines Chris, perfect habitat for them to thrive. On a good vole year we've had up to 19 breeding pairs.

Thanks BB, yes, I wasn't hiding for this shot :)

Its quite interesting behaviour, the Jackdaws appear to mob it for no other reason only fun! They never attack or steal its pry, they just like to force them to a perch. On a number of occasion, after a couple of minutes, they'll just get bored and fly off.

If not and I'm close enough, I'll usually walk towards them. The Jackdaws always fly first, leaving the owl to carry on hunting.........I like to think its my way of saying 'thanks' to the owl for posing so nicely

Thanks Les, although I'm not sure I agree, ISO 1250 would've been a lot more appealing

Thank you Keith

That's excellent. Definitely a bogey bird for me (let alone photographing one!) Is the white balance a bit on the cool side though?

Thanks Jerry, I does look a tad cool on me laptop but better on me monitor or phone, that's not saying it isn't as I'm well over due calibrating me monitor.

I've done a quick side by side edit and warmed it up a tad, interested to see if it looks better, cheers
