Notice There's gon' be some new sheriffs in town

And a few other bits too, ;)
Well spotted Dom (y)

Hopefully now they know their little corner is safe, they'll all retreat back to their armchairs and port shortly (y)

:D

I barely know where my digital cameras are.... I hope they don't make me go find my film one too!

I don't know what to do, I can't like your post, so I've had to quote it and put this (y) here.
Well feel free, its still here ( for now at least) so fill ya boots :D

I thought for a moment that someone might have disabled the like button on my posts but it's working in another part of the forum!

It's when he's coming down your chimney you need to be worried ...

I don't think he knows where I live (beyond the town). Unless I've bought/sold something from/to him in classies.

Fingers crossed for an easy transition. Good luck chaps (y)

Thank you Marcel for the past and a big thanks and good luck to the three new owners for the future.

Wonderful news to wake up to. Congratulations to all involved and time @Marcel to look after #1 and concentrate on what is important in life. Stay healthy all!

Great news that TP will be run by familiar faces. So it looks like forum pruning will happen, and sections such as OOF will go.

@jonbeeza No big changes like that are intended in the near future, whilst we bed ourselves in and ensure everything is continuing smoothly. After that we may make some small changes, but with the intention of getting the emphasis back onto photography topics and less on the divisive politics that have affected parts of TP in the last few years.

Thanks to Marcel for all the work getting the forum going etc and thanks also to the three new owners. Great news indeed!

That's good to hear, but I have to say that the politics on this forum is minimal compared to some. For example, i'm also a member of a fly fishing forum and political posts abound on there, with just a few extremely vocal, and arrogant, posters knocking digital lumps out of each other regularly - it really puts you off visiting. Thankfully things aren't too bad here, in that respect.

...with 2/3 of the new ownership being filmies, does that mean film is 'officially' better than digital?

well - I do know that @Roberts will be pleased, where else would he have got such an easy job... Don't think he's come out of his Butlers Pantry since early 2015...

Thanks for the reply. :) (y)

Great news, thanks for stepping up guys (y)

Great news, good to know that TP is in safe hands, well done folks and thanks Marcel.

Very good news, many thanks to Marcel and to the new team for keeping TP alive and well.

We three musketeers have our respective strengths and seem to make a strong team combining them, so we will do our best to maintain TP as it is, with any future tweaks being thoroughly thought through......

Does that mean we'll be having an Amateur Radio forum then :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Glad to see that it's in hands that are more than capable, and @Marcel, many thanks for the hours of blood sweat & tears you & the team have put in to make this one of the best places on the Internet.....

That's great news. :)

Thanks to all the old guys and the new owners - who, come to think of it, are also old guys. :exit:

Praise indeed to the 3 musketeers who have taken on the site! This is genuinely excellent news and just what we needed to get us out there and start shooting.

Firstly, Thanks @Marcel for the post.
And thanks for the many years of running TP, and indeed setting it up in the first place.
Its given me and thousands of others a lot of pleasure over the years (y)

Secondly, Marcel will be staying on in an advisory capacity and retains his admin status, as it was before.
Although come take over, which we are hoping will be early June, he will no longer have any business interests in TP
Also, the rest of mod team remains as is, and there are no planned changes in "staff" for the foreseeable future.

We 3 obviously have our own thoughts and plans for the continuation of TP.
There won't be many changes implemented to the rules or general ethos of TP ,
but as before, in the previous thread, we are all hoping to get the emphasis of TP back to "photography.
And photo sharing".

Thanks for the warm welcomes (y)

Nice one Chris- maybe now we'll get people commenting on images and sharing images for critique, as you know its something I like to champion :)

Great to see Marcel will still be involved, I have loved this forum for many many years & hope to do so until I hang up the camera and disapear into the Levels

Long may this forum continue :sony:

Les :)

Well done the gang of three and thanks to Marcel for holding things together over the years .. so glad the ownership is staying internal and not going to a conglomerate etc .
