Your probably right Nod, I once own a bike that was clearly a 1970's model Honda xl125s ( drum brakes 6 volts electric, twin shocks) which had been imported from Belgium where it was registered as new in the 90's then it was imported to the UK and had an early 2000's plate. It caused me real...

What's the best way to fix this ? (broken camera)

Wow I didn't realize they were that valuable ! mines got to be 200 quids worth just needs a small repair. O.k so I went the nut and bolt route and guess what ? It doesn't work ( much sadness and crying) The head of the bolt fouls the narrow slot that the catch, catch's in. I have tried a small...

What's the best way to fix this ? (broken camera)

I was just off out at 6.45 this morning when as I left the house my newly loaded Praktica B100's film door came open I closed it but with a couple of taps it opened again. As I had only just loaded the film I dug out my Jenaflex AH1 reloaded the same film swapped the lens and still managed to...

    How Well Does Film Edit?

First off I'm no expert and very rarely spend much time editing photos but I would have thought that once you have scanned the image it becomes a digital photo anyway so I would have thought all digital photos rules would apply,I sort off get what you are asking as scanning a film image in...

What is the Best way create ghosts using double exposure ?

O.k I'll explain my thinking, A number of years ago a friend of mine who was known as a little mad (A lot mad really !) started to go out Ghost hunting (it really is surprising how many other people we bumped into doing the same thing), as I was at college as a mature student doing electronic...

    Polarising filter help

The 35M was my moms camera which I think she used a little in the mid to late 1970's but most likely it was not used after the early 1980's my sisters had the same camera and I had an older Cosmic 35. About 2 years ago after going to Whitby Goth festival and having my photo taken hundreds of...

    Polarising filter help

I have seen polarizing filters that twist but hadn't realized that they all do Peter ( I've never used filters before), as pointed out the camera's shutter speed must be really slow as it will also over expose even if 200 speed film is used at 1-250th and f16 in really bright light although it...

    Polarising filter help

I was looking on eBay the other day for a Cosmic/Smena Symbol to add to my collection of Cosmic cameras and one advert said the camera had a 35.5mm filter fitted, as it has the same lens fitted to my Cosmic 35m I looked at mine and discovered that it has a filter thread ( I had never noticed...

Show us yer film shots then!

I had to read that a couple of times before I understood what you were getting at Peter. The Cosmic 35m has no meter, the aperture is set when you dial in the film speed, f16 at the max of 320 ASA,F11 at 200 ASA then the camera has symbols depicting weather conditions Bright sun 1-250th hazy sun...

Show us yer film shots then!

Commi Cosmic 35m kentmere 400, I think on really bright days the max shutter speed of 250th results in slight over exposure. For this photo I tried at least to stand slightly in the shade but I think the house and sky are just a little too much Itoned it down a little in post but it's still not...

Thanks anyway Stephen,I've already had a look on eBay and they can be found quite cheaply anyway.I just need to work out which way to go with regard wet printing or scanning.

What Black and white film do you think is easiest to develop ?

I've just had a real good look whilst winding a film onto the spiral and I found that as you get part way into the film the plastic above one of the ball bearings is broke and it starts to lift meaning the ball bearing no longer grips ! At least I know why now.

    Old Cameras

Your photos are great Gary as someone pointed out if I was looking at them in a photographic history book I'd be impressed, but I'd have to run some film through at least the 35mm/135 cameras at £2.50 for Kodak colourplus it's worth a try. Some of my best photos (to me at least anyway) Have been...

What Black and white film do you think is easiest to develop ?

The Rondinax daylight tank sounds like a good thing Chris, I have a Patterson tank which I picked up from somewhere and have tried with a light damaged film to wind it on the spiral, I would say its less than 1/2 of the time it works and that's without trying to do it in the dark. That said as...
