What's Your History With Nikon Digital Cameras ?

Started with a D40 in 2008; also have had a D80 and a D200. Current lineup, all purchased second hand with very low mileage: D50 x2 D300 D300S D700 The latest acquisition being one of the D50s, in silver, which I could not refuse for the princely sum of £33(!) - including kit lens - with...

+1 for Redsnapper. I own one and it is very sturdy and great value for money, albeit at the top end of your budget.

Beginner Nikon d3300 First ever pictures (advise please)

As a beginner of many years, I have nothing constructive to add except that I agree with all the comments above. You seem to have a great eye for composition. I can pay no better compliment than to say that I am enjoying looking at your photos.

Super moon over South Shields Pier Lighthouse

Fantastic image. Down here in the south-east we could not even see the moon, as it was so cloudy!

Vtech kids action camera V cheap chinese action camera.

As has already been said, if it is more for fun than photography, then the vtech is ideal. Otherwise, why not consider a good, used compact camera? I recently purchased a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 on behalf of some friends, from a well known auction site, in excellent condition for about £38 and...

    Pentax 1st D-L2

Hi everyone. A friend of mine has given me his old Pentax, as he has not used it for three years, and I am keen to play with it. The problem is that, no matter which batteries I use, the screen on the top of the camera flashes the 'battery empty' sign. I have read on the internet that this...

A few favourites from my shoot with Ella

+1 for number 1. It is far more interesting and there is an 'enigmatic' look about her, and great colour. Love number 4 also!

    Lencarta Monolight

I really appreciate your reply, Mr Edwards. Thank you! I was beginning to think that I had been 'duped', for one of a better word! I bought the above unit, together with a stand, a 69cm x 50cm double-diffused softbox, radio trigger and mains lead, all in a carry-bag for £125. Do you think...

    Lencarta Monolight

Anyone, please? MODs, have I posted this in the incorrect section? Should it be in the 'Talk Lighting and Studio' section? If so, can you please transfer? Thank you! Simon

    Lencarta Monolight

I have purchased the item below from a well known auction site as a 'Lencarta Studio Flash 200W'. The problem is that I am not an expert and would like those who are to confirm that this item is indeed a Lencarta unit. Yes, I know it does say so but that is just a sticker. Your comments...

    Another of my Daughter

Hi Brian, I am no expert but, for what is worth, here is my two two pennies worth: You have taken some fabulous photographs of a your lovely daughter with what is considered to be "just an entry-level camera". It proves that it is about the photographer and not the camera! It is always...

    The Flash

Scott, Only you will know whether you need to use flash or not. Essentially, the built-in flash is there for a quick snap when necessary and you have no other. If you do need to use a flash, you need an external unit such as the SB-600. It is a more than capable unit and fairly...

    Harsh Honest feedback required..!!!!!

Hi Dave, I am not a newbie, and most certainly not an expert(!), but I do agree with Andrew in that I do prefer the dark background to the white which we see a lot on here. I love the lighting!

    First shots with my SLR

Hi Ben, The photos are great and the Nikon D3100 will be a great camera in your hands. Camera/Lens repairs in South Essex

Hi James, thank you for your reply! Yes, it was indeed Ilesley. I have yet to speak to them about it as i have been working all day, hence my late reply to you. I am sure that they will look at it again, although they had the lens for three months(!) in for repair. Thank you for suggesting...

    Camera/Lens repairs in South Essex

Does anyone know of a good camera and lens repair shop in the Southend area? I have a Nikkor 28-105mm 3.5-4.5 D which I dropped and it seemed to be shuddering and not focussing beyond a few feet. I had had it for a few weeks only and it was a lovely lens! I have had it repaired in the...

    First go at macro

Considering that the lens is not a 'macro' lens, it is excellent! As previously stated, perhaps not so central would have made it better. Great shot, nevertheless!
