Using Vivitar 636AF Flashgun on Canon 600D

I have seen the magic little hotshoe things (see technical me :P) that create a safe voltage but for the price, I can grab a flashgun on the bay anyway. It was more curiosity if this old one would work as a play thing in the mean time. Im guessing that siding with caution, it might not be a...

Using Vivitar 636AF Flashgun on Canon 600D

Hi everyone :) Was donated an old Vivitar 636AF flashgun the other day and was wondering If I could use it on my 600D? I understand TTL won't work correctly but its more for the sake of playing :) Only thing that concerns me the most is the trigger voltage. I've heard of some flashguns...

    Snooker shot

Cheers for the reply Les :) Would you say then that I have (in theory) got the focus correct but the slow shutter speed resulting in shake has caused the OOF? Also, didn't want to use flash as other people were on the table next to us. ISO was 3200, is there anything else I could of done to...

    Snooker shot

Agree with all the posts, think I missed the focus, even though the camera using the AF lights on the viewfinder said it was on the face. Any tips?

First flower shot from new camera

Hey Neil :) I agree although when rolling back the saturation, it (to me) lacks the oomph of a decent photo. That said Im still not entirely sure If i just missed focus slightly on that side?

Joe the Dog trying to be wise

Really like this shot :) I am no expert but (on this monitor at least) it looks slightly soft. Not sure if a tiny bit of sharpen in PP might help? Again only a beginner here so take my advice very lightly lol :) Bry
