Ipad Pro, Macbook or what for LR?

I also have Lightroom 6. I put Lightroom on my iPad and it seemed to activate some kind of one month trial that allowed Lightroom 6 to sync with the iPad. So you could try for a month to see if it helps with your motivation. I don’t want to pay for a subscription so I only use Lightroom on my...

    Mojave

I got that message on my iPhone and iPad. . It said “changes you make to your library on this device sync only to devices running iOS 12, macOS 10.14, or later”. I got the message before Mojave was actually released. I have a MacBook on High Sierra and a Mac mini on El Capitan. Neither can be...

I'm coming around to the point of view. I'd just be eager to transfer the photos to my iPhone to look at them. And that doesn't sound relaxing.

Leica M10 D - The digital 'film' camera?

I can’t speak for anyone else, but yes it’s an important part of the experience for me. I’d still shoot film in preference to an M10-D because I like the way film looks. And also because it extends the break between shooting and reviewing. The more I think about this M10-D, the more I realise...

This is another thing I can’t help doing. But I think it’s a bad OCD habit.

Leica M10 D - The digital 'film' camera?

I guess the choice for those considering it is M10 or M10-P vs M10-D. So either way it’s very expensive.

I’m afraid I can’t help it, I end up looking.

Leica M10 D - The digital 'film' camera?

For me, it’s a couple of things. First, it’s the separation of the feelings from making the photograph and the feelings from reveiwing the photograph. I prefer them as separate experiences. Second, it’s trying to remain in the zone of making photographs. As soon as I move into reviewing...

Leica M10 D - The digital 'film' camera?

I said I liked it in the Leica thread. You can change ISO on the camera.

I like the M10-D. I particularly like the idea of separating the experience of shooting and the experience of reviewing photographs; this is one of the reasons I like shooting film. The last M-D only shot DNG. I thought I would have liked that camera if I had some way to access the full menu and...

    Instagram - what a nightmare!

It doesn’t. You can use the iPhone app on an iPad. Prior to iOS 12, it doubled the iPhone app version for 3:2 screens to fill the iPad screen. But iOS 12 runs iPhone apps in 16:9 so they don’t fill an iPad screen.

    Instagram - what a nightmare!

It does seem possible to upload photos from Safari on an iPad. So if you go to Safari on a Mac, tick “show develop menu in menu bar”, go to instagram.com, go to Develop in the menu bar and then “User Agent”, then select iPhone, it is possible to upload from Safari on a Mac. I think. I tried...

    Instagram - what a nightmare!

One of the points of photography is for other people to see our photographs. And Instagram is where people are going these days to look for all kinds of photography including those taken with what you call real cameras (although I don’t see why a phone’s camera isn’t a real camera).

    Lightroom update

Can't you pay just to update from Lightroom 5 to 6? I paid £64.66 to upgrade from 4 to 6 via a download from the Adobe website.

Gadgets or Image - which is more important to us?

I’m penurious so there would be very little point in my taking an interest in the latest cameras. This has been a good thing because I’m not distracted by gear acquisitions and my interest centres on photos (mine and those of others). And I know my focal length really well because I only have...

Adobe will not support older o/s in new CC

My Late 2009 Mac mini is also going fine but can’t be updated beyond El Capitan. A few months ago I was wondering whether to stay with Lightroom 4, upgrade with Lightroom 6, or take up a subscription. I opted to upgrade to Lightroom 6. At the time I didn’t even consider that the latest...

What’s this line in my photos?

I’ve got a line across all the photos from frame 22 on a roll of Fuji Superia 400. It was hand processed commercially and scanned by me at home. Any ideas what it is?
