    New Laptop Advice

A desktop kind of restricts me to one room, with a laptop I can use it anywhere, including when I'm away from home, I looked at some Lenovo's but reviews said the screens were bad, but I will look again with the advice on hard drives and screen type that you have provided.

    Canon Zoom Lens

Good idea, I'll break it down 1. Budget £400 to £500, Quite happy for new, used or grey. 2. Sharpness is important, aperture is fine around 4.5 and focal length does not need to be more than 300/400. 3. I would prefer light as possible. 4. Handling not an issue. 5. Weather sealing not important.

    Canon Zoom Lens

Thanks Mr Badger that is definitely a consideration, I'm no professional so the additional cost of an L lens isn't really justifiable.

    Which Canon Lens

Thanks Mr Badger, it's good to see some real world photos, I've been reading reviews and I have seen a lot of reports of the L version not being sharp and reviews of the STM saying it's auto focus is better and the images are just as sharp if not sharper than the L lens.
